I'm a college student in the beautiful Pacific Northwest! I'm originally from Ventura, California but I currently alternate living in the Portland and Seattle areas. I love snail mail and all sorts of paper crafts, ribbons, and pretty little things, especially if they're recycled or repurposed. I collect postcards of locations...ANY kind of postcard, I don't care, I just love them...they're like little pieces of art! :D I love to scrapbook, crochet, paint, write, and take photographs. I also love to travel, have visited over 3 dozen countries and have spent an extended time living in Rome, Italy. Most of all, I love to meet people and learn from them! I hope to hear from you soon! :)
Also, if you're interested in learning more about me, please feel free to visit my website. :D There you can find more info on moi, but also lots of fun vegetarian recipes and tips on how to lead an all-natural lifestyle, which I'm working on doing myself.
I really love most all music! I listen to a huge variety of things, from Alternative to Zarzuela, and almost everything in-between.
My absolute favorite music is classic rock, and my least favorites are probably metal and rap, although there are certain times when I enjoy them, too. I grew up with my mom listening to '70's music and my dad listening to country, so they hold special places in my heart.
Growing up in the Los Angeles and Seattle areas and living in Europe has also influenced my taste...so I'm pretty diverse. Feel free to introduce me to any music you like. :)
Here are just a FEW of my favorite books...
The Good Soldier. Ulysses. Of Human Bondage. The Sound and the Fury. Mrs. Dalloway. El Amor en los Tiempos del Cólera. The French Lieutenant's Woman. Captains and Kings. The Reader. One Hundred Years of Solitude. The Way of All Flesh. Atlas Shrugged. Ariel. Revolutionary Road. Tender is the Night. The Good Earth. Reading Lolita in Tehran. The Handmaid's Tail. The Bell Jar. The Memory Keeper's Daughter. The Complete Short Stories of Ernest Hemingway. The Stand. A Passage to India. To The Lighthouse.
As you can hopefully see from this weird variety, I love almost all books! I just love to read, to be honest. I also really love Harry Potter of course...we grew up together, he and I did. :)
LOST. The Office. The X-Files. Friends. Arrested Development. The Daily Show. Curb Your Enthusiasm. South Park. Battlestar Galatica. The Simpsons. The Wire. Pushing Daisies. Star Trek: TNG. The Colbert Report. Six Feet Under. How I Met Your Mother. Will and Grace. Rome. Weeds. Family Guy. And lots more--I don't actually watch this much TV, but in summer when school's out and I'm bored after work I'll catch up on these shows on the trusty Interwebs. :D
Again, here is just a small sampling. I love the cinema, and am a huge contributor to our local independent scene here in the Seattle area.
The Deer Hunter. Apollo 13. Camelot. Shallow Grave. A Clockwork Orange. Bridge on the River Kwai. Back to the Future. THX-1138. A.I. Die Hard. Grosse Point Blank. City of God. The Usual Suspects. Chicago. Donnie Darko. The African Queen. Aladdin. Beverly Hills Cop. Casablanca. Etc.
"...the eye becomes more eloquent when the tongue is silent." Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, The Adventures of Gerard.
"He was born with a gift of laughter and a sense that the world was mad." Raphael Sabatini, Scaramouche.
"It is absurd to divide people into good and bad. People are either charming or tedious." Oscar Wilde, Lady Windermere's Fan
"It is difficult for a woman to define her feelings in language which is chiefly made by men to express theirs." Thomas Hardy, Far From The Madding Crowd
"She behaves as if she was beautiful. Most American women do. It is the secret of their charm." Oscar Wilde, The Picture of Dorian Gray
"What did she feel? Did she love him, or did she feel nothing at all for him or for any other man, being, as she had said that afternoon, free, like the wind or the sea?" Virginia Woolf, The Voyage Out
"The human race, to which so many of my readers belong, has been playing at children's games from the beginning, and will probably do it till the end, which is a nuisance for the few people who grow up." G. K. Chesterton, The Napoleon of Notting Hill.
"The past is a foreign country; they do things differently there." L. P. Hartley, The Go-Between.
"It was a pleasure to burn." Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451.
"Of all the things that drive men to sea, the most common disaster, I've come to learn, is women." Charles Johnson, Middle Passage.
"You become. It takes a long time. That's why it doesn't happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand." The Velveteen Rabbit
"O my beloved homeland, my distant paradise, I sacrifice my heart for you. You are my cherished desire; you are my honor; you are my life. I salute the breeze that has passed over your earth; I will kiss anyone who will mention your name." Kabuliwala
"Animals are my friends... and I don't eat my friends." George Bernard Shaw
"We can judge the heart of a man by his treatment of animals." Immanuel Kant
"I am in favor of animal rights as well as human rights. That is the way of a whole human being." Abraham Lincoln
"We don't make mistakes...we have happy accidents." Bob Ross
The most important thing for me when it comes to ratings is WHETHER YOU TRIED HARD! :) Guessing whether I might like something is a tough game...I won't "grade you down" if you swung and missed--it's about getting mail and making friends, not about being psychic! If you really put thought and effort into what you sent me, you'll get a five, no problem! :D
I give hearts when people go above and beyond the call of duty, like sticking a sweet note in with an ATC instead of just sending the ATC blank. Hearts are really for people I'd love to swap again with or whom I feel I learned something about. It's not always about sending extra stuff, it's about being the best swapper you can be. :D

Maybe we can set up another private swap! I'm actually running low on postcards at the moment, bu I'll re-stock this next week and see if I can get something nice for you :)
Oh, could you please rate me on the postcard I sent you? I just remembered that we set it up as a private swap. I'll rate you as soon as yours arrive :D
Hi! I'm really glad you liked the postcard! I would also love to visit the pyramids someday. It's kind of embarrassing that I haven't, I'm a very bad Mexican! :P
Tell me if you want to swap again, I would love to! :D
