Hey there. My family and I live just north of Atlanta, Ga. Although I am a southern girl, I am a full blooded Libertarian. I have been making cards for the past ~12years and have been sewing for 16-17 years. I love most anything handmade- especially if it is green or has leaves on it:) I have 3 children that have all moved out, the youngest 2 recently. I have been looking forward to having my house to myself again, but it is kinda' weird:) Both of the younger two frequently call and "invite" me to dinner or lunch so that I can pay:)
I have 2 canine rescues; Maggie is 61/2 and Oscar is nearly 5. They make me so happy just watching them romp and play.
I will always do my best to make sure that the swaps I send are something that I would like to receive. I read profiles and try to incorporate my partners likes into the swap if at all possible. I will rate you as soon as I receive a swap item from you and would appreciate it if you would do the same for me. Please contact me if you have any concerns and I will do my best to help to figure it out. I can't wait to swap with you all soon.
I tend to have a book with me at all times. My favorite book of all is "A Time to Kill," by Gresham. Currently, my favorite books are James Patterson, especially the Alex Cross ones. I have a good number of Jonathan Kellerman as well. I tend to read anything and everything that is around me: boxes, billboards, notices...
I watch a good number of movies, but my all time fav is Disney's version of "The Three Musketeers." I love the story, the costumes, the actors and most everything about the movie.
I really despise horror movies. I don't mind the gore and blood; I just don't like the storylines.
I love anything "beat em up and blow em up." My most recent favorite is Neeson in "Taken." I think I have most of the Segall movies.
I enjoy the majority of the Disney "family" movies: i.e. "Eight Below."
I don't watch television but when I did, I was always searching for CSI, SVU and CI- gotta' love Goran's character. Loved "Good Eats" and "Simply Quilts" UPDATE: I now have satellite and LOVE "Big Bang" and "Justified."
Despised: The Simpson's, Soap operas, and commercial interruptions.
I love making cards. I use a lot of neutrals and greens are my favorite. I do like most colors but prefer muted tones rather than bold and bright. Pink is NOT a fav of mine although it certainly has its place. It is kind of funny but, I have had to reevaluate the I-really-don't-like-pink thing. Some of the best swaps and tags I have done here at SB have included pink "stuff" that is simply fabulous. I guess I just have never seen pink done right before now:)
I love nature themes and leaves are my favorites. I love florals, as well, although I do tend to choose the less "girly" ones. Monochromatics are fabulous but I haven't mastered it as I would like.
Sewing: my first passion I probably have enough fabric to clothe a small third world country. I hate to cut into it so many of the pieces are still whole as when purchased. Quilthome.com ROCKS. I would love to learn to quilt but I don't have an abundance of patience and cannot seem to get with the exact measurements and slow speed of sewing to keep the edges exact. I guess I like instant gratification too much:)
I am getting pretty proficient at making ATC. I now can make them and be proud to send them to someone:) I just needed practice.
bottom line though: I can find beauty in most anything and can appreciate the work that goes into handmade items- even when they are not to my personal tastes.
Handmade cards and ATC, unique paper for them, and other handmade items.
Would love to receive handmade items that I cannot make for myself: I cannot knit or crochet and a really long scarf or some potholders would be treasured...I will trade you cards for them:)

Hey! So glad you're putting them to use, and enjoying them! Happy to have done it for you. (o:
Doh! I must admit - I'm so used to thinking of people by their usernames, I am very bad about remembering real names. I got your FQ like a week ago, but with just your real name on the package, I didn't know which NFS member it came from. Silly me. Suddenly today it hit me! Thank you so much (o: and sorry for the wait in acknowledging it and thanking you!
Thank you so much for all the great items in the Nuts for Sewing Tag....Hearts to you.
Since I'm here - will update on the stamped images. They're en route to you ... just the images. I have something else in mind to make for you, but will send along separately, as I don't want to further hold up this re-send!!
Thank you for your generous tag from NFS! Your daughter is right, the pink skull fabric is just right! That quilting thread is a gorgeous, gorgeous color! I don't think I can part with the vintage themed sewing pics ... I'm gonna frame them & hang in my sewing area. (o: Finally, thank you for the necklace kit - one of my girls will love to do this! Very sweet, very generous package - thank you so much.
I just discovered the charms you included in the noodle fabric swap... LOVE them!! Thank you so much! :)
