Muses and inspiration in my life are mostly writers and film makers.
I'm also passionate about music: classical, even opera, jazz, blues, alternative, rock, punk, ambient, electronica, and dub/reggae. Mix CDs are awesome. New music all kinds of cultural and music especially drumming I love!
Little things that bring me happiness are antiques, thrift store finds, books, CDs (mix) or music in general. I also love charms, cheap jewelry, imported like street market jewelry and unusual local items such as souvenirs. I enjoy simple things like stickers, kawaii, sanrio, and san-x, pens, childish toys like finger paints and and dancing and going to the beach and digging naked toes into the warm sand.
Chocolates, truffles, sweet sugary things, who can resist?
Recycled or polished glass along the shore and seashells.
Raw and tumbled stones have been speaking to me lately! Treasures. Absolute, often free treasure.
I love watching the birds and waves crashing for hours at the beach or shore.
I love libraries with free books and smells of little kids running around and arguments about free speech or whatever silly stupid things we argue about that aren't going to change or are going to change the world.
I've begun a foray into biotechnology & life sciences which I find scary but also exciting and positive.
I love flowers, especially wildflowers and leaves and pressed herbs.
I love art. Performance art. Participatory art. Painting, doodling, graphic design, collage, though I'm not very skilled at collage.
There's little I don't love.
I finally finished Graduate School! Hurray~ I'm not as active at Swap-bot as I used to be. I also did some graduate work in Theology a long time ago. (like 20 yrs ago!) and as an undergraduate I loved History, that was my major.
Started watching TV recently. I watch The View, 24, Lipstick Jungle, and True Blood.
My husband loves tv so I watch some with him, like the Food Network, all the cooking shows. Yum.
The Barefoot Contessa and Giada's Everyday Italian country comforting style is another favorite of mine. I love the environment she creates and the mood of her cooking show.
I also an avid Suze Orman fan (on personal investing) and found out she waitressed down the street here in Berkeley on College Ave for years and years become the Personal Finance guru she is now! I've been reading all her books and following her advice on getting my personal accounting and savings in order.
