Note: I want to get back to swapping!! But we are possibly moving to another city in November, so I need to wait until then. :'(
Profile last updated: Sep 28th, 2017
I am 26 and I live in Tampere, the 3rd largest city in Finland. I am studying from home, because my illness worsened so much that I'm unable to continue working where I used to. :)
My family includes me, my husband, our three sons (born 07/2012, 08/2013 and 02/2017), two cats and a Pembroke Welsh Corgi.
I have legally changed my first name in April of 2017, in case anyone wonders. :)
Languages I can speak: Finnish and English mostly. I do understand Swedish but I can only speak it a little. I know some basic Japanese and very little Korean. I have also taken beginner classes in Mandarin Chinese and French.
I enjoy snail mail, collecting stamps, crocheting and knitting, bullet journaling in my Midori TN, studying languages, paper crafts, meeting new people and reading. I am interested in culture, history, politics, health and travelling.
I like extraordinary, creative, beautiful cards, and cards with such a stunning image that it could be displayed in an exhibition. I don't like boring city views (to me, all city views look boring) or touristy postcards, and in most cases I dislike cards with text on front (does not included vintage advertisement themed).
I prefer my cards sent written in an envelope (unless the swap is for unwritten cards), because I collect stamps, so even if the swap asks for naked postcards, if it doesn't cost you extra money or trouble, I'd like it to be sent in an envelope. :)
I do not collect any kind of touristic cards, even if they feature windmills, trains or other subjects from my wishlist. If you have troubles finding me other than touristy, I prefer single views with no or only a little texts. Please no multiviews!
This list is about my preference in cards, but can be used for other items as well! Not a must to follow, but in case you are wondering what you should send! ;)
I would love:
I send some of my mail in economy. The delivery time for economy mail varies between 1,5 to 6 weeks depending on the country/area.
If I have to wait for my rating, I contact you to find out if my item has arrived, and will gladly re-send in case it did not. However, I won't re-send anything if I don't get a reply from you, so I would really appreciate one.
Please note that anything I've marked sent on Sat or Sun will get Monday's stamp, because we have no mail service here during the weekends! Also mail that has been sent on Friday after 8 AM, when our post box is emptied, will start their travel on Monday.
As of Spring 2017, Tuesday is no longer a mail day in Finland.
I always try to send something my partner will love, based on their profile. Sometimes it is not possible but I try my best, because I myself love the feeling of receiving a well-thought swap and I want my mail to brighten up my partner's day. :)
I don't like blackcurrant/raspberry/mint flavored tea and I absolutely can't stand hibiscus nor jasmine. Apart from those, I'm open to try any tea!
I can easily buy Nordqvist, Lipton and Twinings, so if you have something else to send me, that would be great!
Some brands I really love are:
If possible, please do not tape the teabags together or on the cards.
Please do not send tea bags without their wrappings - I think it's a bit unhygienic and I will throw them away. Also, please do not send tea bags with damaged/worn wrappings -- those seem like they are very very old and I don't want to drink expired tea. I would never send tea like this to my partner, so I can't even pass on what you sent me.
