My name is Charles Hal Jones IV.
Male/24/Texas
As Louis Katz would put it, a "Clayer." Currently I'm building a wood-fired kiln, trying to establish some overhead for my future career as a studio Artist. I dig my own local clay, prepare slips from local iron oxide.
Aside from that, I'm usually a regular Artist. I like to work with trash in my sculptural paintings. I don't like to spend much money. Money is inherently evil. It's more of challenge to work ideas through a limited process. I really love challenges and hard work. They make me feel like I'm alive.
I'm also a Graphic Designer, but that is boring! Haha :)
I'm not a Zen Buddhist because if I told you I was, that would not be very Zen Buddhist!
I graduated wtih a BFA or something, from some university in Texas. Inherently, I'm really only artistically interested in nativism and indigenism. I'm facinated with Mexican culture, Texan culture, anyone's culture! I'm well read and a general contemporary philosophical person. I enjoy Robert Anton Wilson, Terrence McKenna, the works of Dan Winter (he's nuts!!), Kenneth Wilber, Jordan Maxwell, Jonathan Zap, coast to coast radio, Red Ice Radio, talk radio in general.
Turn off your T.V. I still do not yet own a cell phone (^_^ ),,I,
I'm a seventh generation Texan and one of the few remaining Americans.
I'm into all natural and real things. I'd rather recieve of small bag of dirt than kitchy, tchotchke, mass industrial/commercial swag b.s.!
Seriously, about the dirt -- take a pinch from a sacred space, from somewhere familiar to you. If you have a little bag (like the ones for jewely) send it on over!
Local and or quirky weird/strange/peculiar advertisements from newspapers or locally published things. These things are sometimes hilarious to me! I need good laughs.
Any item, craft, clothing, writings, that you feel guilty of having or letting go (things should not make you feel bad!). I'll give that a good home.
I like interesting or quirky themes. This does not mean macabre or dark, just different.
I love sarcasm, sardonic, cynicism, et al. Especially when it's coupled with ethical view points.
I love fine-line work and line art. Just learning zentangles and I like the idea of zetti but have not tried to replicate it yet. Although I've avidly doodled through out school while I should have been paying attention.
Interested more in personal handmade items, or items that have a lot of thought into them.
Colors I like are grays, blues, some greens. I like saturated tones but not bright. Like earth tones: sienna, mustard, terracotta, olive, chocolate brown. Rich colors.
Interested in ATC's, drawings, and maybe some swaps that have lots of thought into them. I like the thought of being interactive.
Not into cute. Kawaii is nice but is not for me. I have no interest in it even though the culture and style is very interesting.
Please no country/cowboy items, I live in the country and Im tired of it.
I don't celebrate any national holidays, None what-so-ever, so please nothing with that.
Not into scrap booking, or photo journaling.

Thanks for my first comment! Well no but I did take printmaking in college and really enjoyed it too. My mother was a designer and also my grandmother. I don't know maybe I got a little of the DNA! I love this venue for extending my art. Everyone has been so kind with their response to my work. I especially like the ATC format. Thanks, Deb O.
From one potter to another welcome to the hand drawn/painted atc group. My husband loves wood fired work and helped build a wood in Orlando, Fl. I look forward to getting the chance to swap with you. Happy swapping and welcome to swap-bot:)
