-writer and collector of manuscripts
-metal head ._.
-hamster guardian

I like

-foul language
-weird things

Swap Relevant

stuff I make

I do or dabble in a lot of crafts and arts, but for the most part I:
-paint (watercolor, acrylic, oil)
-carve stamps and stencils
-make batches of postcards

Subject matter wise I have always preferred the human form, especially women. I also really enjoy doing hands. Right now most of my art is pet based. You can see my art and junk (a lot of it, anyway) on my instagram! I am willing to consider commissions for both human and animal portraits, so drop a line if you're interested (:

I also write a lot. Most of my writing time ends up going to my novel trilogy. Because I keep starting new ones instead of editing.

stuff I swap

-handmade postcards
-misc little creative things
-sometimes other things, but mostly those 4.

stuff I like

-misc little creative things
-smallish stuff I can hang on my wall
-weird/cute stickers
-quotes pertaining to art/ writing
-whatever craft you're good at and want to share

stuff I cannot use

We're very less is more around here so please be kind and hold off on sending random extras unless you really really think I would love them.

-I don't collage much, so no napkins, random tissue paper, random paper paper
-I hate coloring. Legit. hate. it.
-stuff I am allergic to
-ephemera that doesn't really pertain to my interests

I have a child now. I call them Kenneth even though their name isn't actually Kenneth because we both find it funny and it drives my husband nuts.

Kenneth is 15, blue haired, into fall out boy, music in general and super duper duper into swedish. They've been learning on their own with duolingo and a book on Swedish and it's honestly impressive. They also are interested in shrunken heads and mummies and cannibalism and pretty much just like a youthful me with worse music taste.

Kenneth is also learning to cook. And is REALLY into their planner although a little frustrated that all planner accessories are "girly" PINK.

Easy recipes, postcards, anything in swedish and "boyish" or "neutral" planner supplies (especially addressed to Kenneth) would make a child's day.

Comment: Love your postcard for this! Thanks a bunch :) and, yes I guessed what it was for LOL

Comment: Citrus! Our grocery store had a citrus tasting last fall. I had no idea there were so many varieties of oranges! I'd thought that blood orange was my favorite, but discovered I like Cara Cara more. (The Fremont Troll can't have any; she'll have to settle for an orange car) PS Sorry for the late rate, it's not enough to save ratings if one doesn't fill in the "I got my stuff..." button.
Comment: Love the postcard and prompt!

Comment: I loved the refrigerator poetry. Somewhere under the postcards, grandchild's art, obsolete grocery lists, and recipes I really know better that to attempt, we have some. But I think children and guests have stolen all the good words, anyway.

Comment: Oh how I love poetry magnets. They are so fun to play with and I absolutely adore this idea for a zine.

Comment: I adore the fancy fish stamp, I assume it's one you made? Thank you too for the fun fridge zine...hummm what about one inspired by what's inside? Or what goes on inside? Thank you!

Comment: Thank you for a really fun zine! It is such a unique theme!

Comment: WA county would be a great place to live! So close to my favorite part over by the coast. We have spent many vacations driving up and down that section of coastal hwy. Sorry I missed your impromptu Seattle visit!

Comment: So glad you enjoyed all the sushi! Honestly, I've never tried it. All the places I've been at that offer it have seemed a little sketchy to me. Someday I'll end up in a reputable restaurant and give it a try.
Response: You know, I totally take seafood for granted since I've always lived in places with *tons* of seafood (especially Seattle!) it seems impossible to not try sushi. I think it's the texture that throws most people off, I'd say try salmon first when you get around to it, it's the nicest texture!

Comment: Sorry you had to resend but these stamps were worth waiting for. Love the variety and that you used different ones on the envelope! Thanks so much.
Response: I am so glad this batch got to you, it was really no worry since I made extra the first go around, thank you for being so patient with me and I am glad you liked them!

Comment: Rad designs, Met - thanks for sharing! You got some really great details packed into such a little space.
bigmamabird rated for mpu: spring! on Apr 1, 2017
Comment: Loved the whole package... the flowers on the envelope, the stickers, and the ATCs with their backgrounds done with your cool new anemone stamp! We just got 6 more inches of snow so I'm not really *feeling* spring, but I'm pretending hard.
Response: Oh my, it sounds like the weather is playing an April Fool's joke on you. 6 inches of snow?! If it keeps it up you could have yourself a very ridiculous easter egg hunt...

Comment: Well Met, I've prided myself on finally accurately reading your writing on the back of the card, and it really wasn't all that difficult once I saw a pattern to your letter formation. But nowhere did you mention anything about the space that has the blue skirt, legs and shoes of a woman, the space under the tiny envelopes, above the cupcakes, to the right of the octopus, and to the left of a bird. I love that you made your own version of a phrenology chart by painting a self portrait profile and putting your interests all over what appears to be a swimming cap with your hair escaping from under the front of it. You are a creativity inspiration to all of us!
Response: heh, I am glad you were able to see the pattern in my penmanship. The mystery square would be a detail of a painting I did a while back, I put it in because my biggest passion in art has always been human portraiture, especially women. That was my big love when I did photography as well. Over all, it just did not feel like a self portrait without at least a little of my hair sneaking in (: thank you for the kind rating

Comment: Wahoo! Got your awesome stamped PC. I read your blog. Now, every time I see the stamp, I think of your nose. Haha! One more nudge toward me getting those darn stamp tools.
Response: heh, I might have made a mistake with that blog post, now any time I post a selfie people are going to check the nose. :P you really gotta get the tools, you *gotta*
BelfryBat rated for MPU: Postcard Plus #5 on Mar 24, 2017
Comment: Thank you for the postcard, Met - I love the T-Rex label! I was intrigued by your lyrics so I checked out Interpol, I like their song ‘Everything is Wrong’ so I may have to listen to more of their stuff.
Response: Ooh! I'm glad I could intrigue you enough to check out some new to you music. I think everything off their album "Antics" is fantastic and the song "Evil" has the most delightful uncanny valley music video I've ever seen (plus it's a pretty solid song, but that puppet!). (:
stephiedee rated for mpu: why'd I make this? on Mar 22, 2017
Comment: HA! I totally missed this was for this swap (and you wrote it right at the top of the card, doi). ^_^ OK, like I said in my profile comment...thank you for the creativity cards! I am definitely going to do something with them, some kind of visual display (now I'm thinking a diorama or something omg!). Anywho, loved the card also and the froggies.
Response: Whatever you do, please please please share many pictures with me so I can think of what I want to do with the billions I still have (and am destined to keep making) (although I think future ones might just be one sided because every use I can think for them involves mounting them somehow anyways...)

Comment: So sorry I seem slow to rate....I think I forgot to press save when they came. Glorious Art Stamps my friend! The DON"T girl is very fitting, Lizard and spiders so fun (and sparkly!) and I adore the 'extras' they will wait for the perfect letter. Mini bearded envie is awesome too. Thank you!
Response: Gosh, was everything sparkly? I might have gotten carried away with some glitter not too long ago... I'm so glad you liked all the stamps, I hope you have fun sending them out into the world ^-^
Bhindblueeyes rated for Write a 20+ line poem #3 on Feb 21, 2017
Comment: I can't even begin to tell you how much I love your poem. While I was reading it, I just felt overcome with a sense of peace. What a great read for me, and I think you so much for sharing it with me.
Response: Thank you for such wonderfully kind words. (: It is so nice to know the peacefulness of those moments preserved itself properly in those words.
joybells2426 rated for mpu: never ending art card on Feb 21, 2017
Comment: Thanks for the art card. I love it! For future reference, my kids don't open the mail, they just get it out of the box for me. If you ever feel like sending things with swearing on it, I'm fine with that. You shouldn't have to remake anything on my account! And thank you for including tattoos for my kids. That was very kind of you! 😊
Response: That is good to know! I think I misread your profile in regards to your kids getting the mail (I also think I was working on your swap while on painkillers still, so that probably didn't help my reading comprehension...) but I'm still glad you liked the card because I had fun making it (:
Watsonc7 rated for MPU: Artistamps! on Feb 17, 2017
Comment: Loooove the Spin stamps!! My lizard loving daughter is snatching at the horned beast stamps, they are all so cool. Your envie and note are are just as awesome, I wish we had pretty birds like those at my house...but ehhhh we get the crows mostly
Response: I'm so glad the stamps were a hit, I had so much fun making all of them. Having pretty birds around isn't all it is cracked up to be, we also have a flock of annoying little alarm impersonators that hang out in the big tree out front and scream at one am. I might prefer crows over that nonsense...

Met! I love the notecard with the dried bachelor buttons enclosed! Thank you so much for thinking of me, I have truly enjoyed your IG posts sharing photographs of them... they are currently inside of my Mom's large, heavy family bible which I refer to as the "keeping book". They will be safe there and I will be sure to enjoy them each time I flip through all of the many hidden treasures inside! Hugs, Patty xo
