Dear Swap-Bot,
I'm not really "feeling" swaps right now. It's nothing personal, in fact, my absence from swapping has been mostly due to my abundance of wonderful pen pals (most of whom I met on here). I'm laying off most swaps until I either start having withdrawals or miraculously develop twice as much energy, creativity and free time. This is still a great way to reach me; I'll get on if I have messages or comments to check.
Love,
Me
In a nutshell: I live in the great Pacific Northwest, just north of Seattle in a town that experiences one season -rain. And I love it here.
I am kinda in college currently have free-time on my hands. I love language and writing and am pursuing an English major. I spend a lot of time doing school, cooking and writing letters (most of which are for my Marine boyfriend).
I'm a proud redhead.
I enjoy getting tattoos, drinking tea, doing art, and the smell of old books.
When I grow up I am going to be any number of things it depends on when you ask me.
I'm talkative and eccentric and generally easy going. In my usual day to day life- I swear, a lot.
I share my living space with my pet Bettas, Rex and Zed. Rex is a cranky fish; Zed is a happy fish.
Likes:
Things that are flat enough to glue/ tape into a journal
the colours orange/olive green
turtles, elephants, fish (especially female angler fish, celestial eyed goldfish and Bettas), hedgehogs, peacocks
bugs, squids, things with lots of legs and eyeballs (like spiders).
caffeinated tea, coffee, chocolate
bad puns, bad music, lame jokes
rocks, dirt, seashells (the beach)
almost any book, comic books, old books, foreign books
Russian Nesting dolls
very cute things
very ugly things
mildly creepy things
things that make no sense
really, just about anything with the exception of the following...
Dislikes:
horses
raisins
straight dark chocolate
cat hair (I'm allergic)
the phrase "don't beat yourself up over it"
country music/ "dubstep"
perforated notebooks and comic sans font
napkins.
--I am generally prompt at everything I do, if you do not receive a swap item from me in a reasonable amount of time please talk to me and I should be able to resend.
--Ich spreche ein bisschen gutes Deutsch, und viele schlechte Deutsch. (and would love to practice a little more)
--I am generally easy going and am not offended by tasteful nudity. Nudity and vulgarity that are artful or humorous do not bug me at all.
--I'm always on the look out for pen pals, letter writing is my biggest mail related passion. So if you've enjoyed swapping with me or just think I look like an interesting human-being don't be shy to contact me! (:
--I just wanted to share my criteria for giving a heart, because I am fairly liberal. I tend to give a heart for any piece of mail that makes me smile or giggle. I do swaps because mail makes me happy.

I really love just about any postcards right now. For ideas please refer to my list of likes/dislikes.
I am also particularly fond of funny, weird and corny postcards. I love postcards that have lousy photoshop done on them and look ridiculous.
A note on the back about you, the place, your city or even a fun fact about your favourite animal is always appreciated (i.e. a little more than just "hi, here's a postcard")
I like postcards to be very ugly, very weird, very beautiful, very ridiculous or just about very anything.
I like handmade postcards but only when they are written on. Since I make my own postcards, I don't really want to send other people's handmade cards. So if you're writing on it and sending it naked- YES! I love handmade cards! If you're sending it blank in an envie- sorry but no thanks.
--Fortune cookie fortunes.
--Kawaii Stationary/Stickers (I love the sticker flakes!)
--anything that goes in a journal and isn't too corny looking.
--Postcards! I love receiving both written on postcards and ones blank in an envie. If it's blank I really am happy with any theme because I am convinced I'll eventually find a use for it.
--unused postage stamps, mainly older ones (like prior to 2008 for US) or international ones. I try to save one of each design of stamp that I buy for my collection. -- Yes, it's odd to collect unused stamps, but my used stamps that I get on letters I have been saving for Stamps for the Wounded and most vintage stamps I find that are already removed from the envelopes end up in art.
--Squished Pennies
--Things written on in German
--Metal Earth Models
--Old book pages/small paper scraps
--Nice stationary/ note-cards of any kind (especially a mixture of cards, I get bored of writing on the same thing)
--Anything having to do with A Clockwork Orange
Please avoid sending me the following:
-bath things/ body lotions. I have really sensitive red head skin as well as an easily irritable nose. So unless the product is organic, natural, or lightly scented I probably can't use it.
-things with raisins or dark chocolate. (especially dark chocolate covered raisins- ick)
-Napkins.
-rewards stickers, or holiday stickers that are completely out of season. (i.e. I don't really need Christmas stickers in the summer.)

Ahhhh xD Love the ATCs. Honoured you made the kitty stamp, soooo cute! Made you 2 so far, trying to do you some super random ones <3 xxx
So excited to see the anglerfish in my mail again :) What a gorgeous postcard! I spent waaaay too much of my "hour to myself" today experimenting with painting latex paint on newspaper as a way to make it a more hat-friendly medium before realizing that I should just haul myself over to the sewing machine again and stitch together some pages of the freebie books I found ... newspaper is just not that wearable. Ink stains, you know ... Anyway, given my sewing machine addiction when it comes to mail art, you may receive a hat model stitched to a card. Ya never know ... or it might be a hat made out of Accounting for Science Prize Recipients who Write Zen Poetry At the Pace of a Glacier (an amalgam of my free book pile :) Oh, and Cat, Lister, and Rimmer playing off each other are hilarious, but Cat is definitely my favorite on the TV series :)
I'm hosting a PC Penpals Swap (US Only) if you're up for the luck of the draw! : )
Hooray! I'm excited to hear back from you and excited you could be a wonderful penpal (although I seem to be a bad one because of how long it takes me to reply). I really need to get organized, but I am new to this and not seasoned like many on SB claim to be. I'll get it right someday!
Wow! Couldn't miss the invisible envelope -- it is perfect, I can even read the cancellation (Windmills, Seattle)! And the flowers, bird and !anglerfish! were the icing on the cake! Made my day, the invisible envelope. Now I gotta figure out the hat thing that I was so excited about in my head :)
Ooooo....Can't wait. You always send such lovely postcards, can't wait to see your ATCs :D Thank you xx
Thank you for the lovely letter and ATC for the I Feel Like Writing About... Tag! :) I'll write back soon!
I know it seems terrible that I tagged you first and my letter has yet to arrive to you, but I was planning on sending you a letter on the show The Voice and since the gal I'm rooting for hasn't performed in the battle rounds yet (there were two episodes of it last week and she wasn't in it!), I wanted to wait to add my reaction on that. She is probably performing tonight or tomorrow. In hindsight, once I realized she wasn't on last week, I should have just sent the letter without it. Sorry. :(
Ugh. I got two tag letters today and of course I leave you a comment for the wrong one. Thank you for telling me about your over-exaggerated day. :) Seems like a fun idea to do every now and then.
I got your letter today. Wow, I never knew people kept karaoke journals. Maybe I should start that too! I don't go as often as you do, only once or twice a week. Thank you so much for the letter. I think I'll be replying soon.
