Important Notes

14 May 2011:

Changes again. I am obliged to complete a number of certain swaps or group-related sends; once I finish these I am going to take a break from Swap-Bot since it is apparent that time management has dropped from my list of skills for the time being. Plus, I am soon finished at my current minimum-wage crap job and don't know when I'll have another.

Anyone from whom I am expecting penpal letters: do not despair, I will continue correspondence! I cannot possibly cut myself off from all fun mail.

Any group leaders who wish to remove me from their group may do so at their discretion.

I am to send/complete the following: 1$ store addicts: At least 1 May wish for anyone who has posted a list. The random traveling envie once I receive it from @Strawberry to @ladyaries7

Crafty Witches: Earth paper doll for @oreon & Magickal Altoid tin for @MichelleK

Spring time photo swap - already a week late on this - for @Tricia22 @Jjean @Plushable and @curlytop529

Two one-on-one swaps, one with @melimar and one with @BeautifullyFrayed (TBD)

Recent required sends that have gone in the mail:

Witchy tag (pendant) for @naurwen

Profile tag item for @Keaniebean

3 Surprises swap for @A127

ATC for @artsyjana for group swap

A graphic for @Shaluna and @PixelPixie for the graphic art swap

This space updated as things are sent. If there is something I have missed that needs to go out please send me a reminder PM and I will make sure it gets to where it needs to go!

About Me

A little about me in general... If you prefer you can skip right down to the likes & dislikes/wishlist at the bottom of the page!

I'm actually female, though the name on my emails and packages suggests otherwise!

I am 20 years old and a Taurus; generally quite the typical Taurus at that!

I live in Newfoundland, Canada. I may be moving to Ontario soon with my boyfriend, who is moving there at the beginning of July. Things are complicated but we're trying our damndest to make it work! I cannot move when he does but will be joining him later when I am able.

I have gone to university; presently I'm taking a break to figure out what I'm going to do with myself. The anticipated move will affect that greatly.

I own three cats, two of whom are sisters and all of whom are completely different from one another! Their names are Cheez (ginger tabby), Poky (tortoiseshell tabby, Cheez's sister, and deliberately spelled without an "e"), and Hunter (grey tabby; not related to the other two.) The boyfriend and I have a Columbian rainbow boa named Sahara - she's mostly his, though! She's a little over two feet now. I myself will be getting a ball python; a clutch of beauties found its way to the pet shop from a local breeder and I simply MUST have one.

My tastes are widely varied. I love bright, happy, girly, silly things, but also super-dark and melancholic things and everything in between. My wardrobe contains professional attire, cute casual wear, and uber-goth outfits. I'll happily sit down and listen to traditional Middle Eastern music, Coldplay, current pop-ish dance music, and Rammstein all on the same playlist. Suffice it to say I don't make a whole lot of sense much of the time.

Penpal/Swap History

I had been on SB in 2009 and enjoyed it immensely. I have never had any problems here and overall it was lots of fun. Life got busy and, sadly, I had to leave.

I used to keep penpals for many years as well, but it's been a while. I miss getting mail!

Favorite Crafts

  • I love making notecards and postcards. I use a lot of recycled paper to make them. Mail art is the best!
  • Polymer clay is a favourite medium to create things. Beads, pendants, assorted fun objects...
  • My latest fascination is in making crazy miniatures and spooky doll house items. I will let you know how these turn out!
  • I also like to make: art dolls; paintings on canvas, wooden boxes, flower pots...; zines; jewelry.
  • I do write poetry and other things on occasion but I haven't done very much at all recently.
  • I love to take pictures but I wouldn't say I'm a "photographer".

I want to try...

  • Whimsy jars
  • ATCs
  • Woodworking
  • I'm starting to get really interested in rubber stamping

I would also love to coordinate or be a part of a round-robin kind of swap - if you're interested or know of one I could join please send me a message!

Likes and Dislikes

Colours:

LIKES: Pink, sky blue, pale pastel blue, earth tones (greens and browns), reds (brick, bright, cherry...), lilac/lavender, black, white.

DISLIKES: Kermit or bright acid green, yellow (fine in small doses!), navy blue

Themes, Styles, Motifs, Patterns:

LIKES: steampunk, abstract, surrealist, goth, EGL, butterflies, dragonflies, Hello Kitty, pinstripes, bold stripes, zebra print, white leopard print (colours fine in moderation), pale-coloured plaid patterns, cupcakes

DISLIKES: fleur-de-lis (serious dislike), country theme, kitschy things, paisley (fine in very small doses), extreme floral, camouflage (kind of turned off from the "fashionable" sort since I date someone who has to wear the real thing!). I also don't like pink animal prints much even though I like pink and I like animal prints. Just not together, K?

Animals:

LIKES: Cats, dogs, snakes, other things that make normal people squirm (lizards, spiders...), bees

DISLIKES: (Just in terms of themes and collectibles and so forth; no real dislike for the creatures themselves!) Cows and other farm animals (except horses), primates

Miscellaneous:

LIKES: leather, lace, very soft things (blankets, pillows, stuffed animals, etc), nail polish, lipstick, alternative lifestyles, belly dance, gloves, fun socks and hosiery, boots, wild makeup, stationery, interesting knots, jewelry, hair accessories (especially headbands), travel, language, snail mail, music of many kinds, dolls, rocks, lemon desserts, chocolate, cupcakes, Monty Python, rhinestones, tarot, handcuffs, dragons

DISLIKES: top 40 radio, country music... very little else that I can think of!

Witchy Stuff

I follow a Pagan path of my own making. I do not follow any specific tradition and am a solitary practitioner. I follow no rules but the Rede, and my own.

I love astrology. I do take it all with a pinch of salt, however. I am also very interested in palmistry.

I use divination very sparingly if at all. My preferred methods are tarot and runes. I like them as themes or symbols on their own. I also am curious about any and all other forms of divination.

Animals of spiritual significance to me are: cats, crows, wolves, and dragons. I have an absolutely fabulous Tarot deck with dragon artwork; this is my main deck for divining.

I do have a "thing" - if that's even an appropriate way to say it - for the Egyptian Gods and Goddesses as well as Egyptian symbology. That said I do not follow particular deities from this system nor any other; however I do like to be familiar with them to some degree!

Other significant symbols include the Tree of Life and triple moon/goddess. I like pentacles or pentagrams but in small doses.

Items I use a lot of and collect: stones, candles (any shape and colour), incense, dried herbs, bits of coloured cloth or felt (large enough to make small sachets or spell pouches), tarot cards (single or decks), rune stones (single or sets).

WISHLIST!

Top Wishes:

  • Stuffed animals: handmade or store-bought. Anything from the classic teddy bear to weird things, like a stuffed scorpion.

  • Belly dance stuff: costume items, jewelry, or things like tassels and cowry shells that can be used to make my own accessories. Also belly dance-themed art of any kind or music (traditional or otherwise.)

  • Stationery sets: matching cards & envelopes, or just nice cards, or sets with matching cards and envelopes and stickers and whatnot. I'd especially love some Hello Kitty stationery!

  • Bath goodies: bubble bath, bath bombs, bath salts, delicious soaps, bath puffs... In particular I like lavender scents, anything dessert-scented, and anything smelling like the woods.

  • Rope: Soft silk, cotton, or other natural fibres. Long lengths (30 ft., 40 ft., 50 ft...) and shorter lengths (5 ft., 10 ft., 15 ft.) Any colour including the fibre's natural colour.

Also Great:

  • Any witchy-themed items or items relating to my own practices as outlined above.

  • Paper: brand new packs of card stock, tissue paper, scrapbook paper, etc. Or, leftovers scraps or ephemera.

  • Jewelry: necklaces and bracelets especially. I have a small wrist (6 in.) and neck (12 in.). I prefer chokers or short necklaces. Not too keen on big & chunky jewelry.

  • Jewelry making items: beads, pendants, charms, and other notions (string/wire, cute clasps, etc.)

  • Cute knitted or crocheted items

  • Mini-hats, head bands, pretty barrettes, and other hair stuff. Only no-no is hair ties with metal, they snag quite terribly in my hair. =(

  • Burt's Bees products: especially the avocado hair treatment since that's getting hard to find where I live for some reason, foot lotion, lip balm (especially the pomegranate one), sample sizes of anything else

  • Stones: polished or unpolished, preferably with a little note about the properties and lore. Also, rune stone sets or individual runes would be super cool.

  • Cupcake-themed items

  • Dragons: figurines or artwork of any kind

  • Ultra-fine tip markers, fine black ink pens (and I mean BLACK, not that so-called "black" that's really more purple)

  • Gel pens, especially pastels or metallics

  • Makeup: bright colours or soft colours, pale and dark. Lipstick, lip gloss, eyeshadow, mascara, or eyeliner all good.

  • Incense: sticks or cones preferred. Burners, too. I like woodsy scents especially.

  • Socks: Women's US size 8/EU 38.5/UK 5.5. The softer the better! Fluffy socks are good. No toes! Dogs or cats or weird things (snake socks?) welcome but otherwise no animals!

  • Cute erasers

  • Stickers: Love: stars, Halloween/spooky, and steampunk & elegant things. Other gooduns: hearts, dinosaurs, snakes, lizards, dragons, fantasy, anything girly and/or with glitter.

  • Scarves, practical or for style only

  • Hot chocolate mix. Tea is fine also; I don't drink it but other people in my family do!

  • Any kind of chocolate, especially with caramel, toffee and/or nuts. Not keen on strawberry- or other fruit-filled, except for orange or lemon.

  • Cupcake, muffin, or cookie recipes as well as baking and/or decorating supplies (cupcake papers, sprinkles, cookie cutters, etc.) No icing; I far prefer making my own!

  • Vegetarian or vegan recipes of any kind and to any degree of veg-ness

  • Soft cat toys, like mice or pom-poms or little catnip pillows.

  • WoW-related stuff. I play Horde and my main class is a Rogue, second Priest.

Due to your recent one you have been removed from Swap_Bot witches united. You still owe a WTA #4 prize to @Momof5NC that isn't listed on your list as well. We will always welcome you back when your ratings improve. Thank you!!
