I'm a Christian wife and mom of two little ones. I teach high school, where I direct the show choir and musical theater group, as well as teaching family and consumer science classes. My students are so much fun and I enjoy my job very much. My husband and I have been together since high school and married since 2004. We live in a tiny little town in Tennessee and love that small-town feel. Also, I'm a singer. Not currently singing in any bands, as it's not something I feel I can make the time for right now, but I do sing in my church choir.
I love all kinds of music. I'm a music teacher! There are really a select few people I would pay to see in concert, however. Those include Aerosmith, Blake Shelton, Maroon 5, Justin Timberlake, Toby Mac, Selah, United, and Michael Buble. My Sirius XM station stays pretty consistently on one of three stations: The Message Christian station, 90's on 9, or Pop2K. If N*Sync ever does a reunion tour, I don't care how much tickets cost...I'm there.
I am an Austenite through and through. I picked up my first Jane Austen book (Emma) early in high school and haven't looked back. I'm always on the lookout for authors who write in the same style, but so often the writing is poor or smutty, neither of which I find acceptable. If you can make a suggestion I'm ready to hear it! I also love the Sookie Stackhouse series, and I'm currently reading The Dresden Files series, which is super entertaining. I just love to read, period. I like a lot of different genres and it's my favorite pastime. Julie Klassen has come pretty close to the feel of Jane Austen for me, so I enjoy her books. The Apothecary's Daughter was the first one I read, so it is special.
The Hunger Games trilogy, The Wings series, Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Hobbit, The Wayward Pines trilogy, the Girl of Fire and Thorns trilogy, books by Frank Peretti are always good, The Vampire Academy and the Bloodlines series, anything by Dan Brown ...this list could continue for a while...
While You Were Sleeping, Lord of the Rings (all), The Hobbit (all), Pirates of the Caribbean (but NOT the third one...I hate movies that make me cry!!), Pitch Perfect, Enemy of the State, Pride and Prejudice (the new one...don't judge me), Steel Magnolias, Pretty Woman, You've Got Mail, The Skeleton Key
I love watching The Bachelor/Bachelorette. It's so trashy and fake but it's fun to try to predict who's staying. By the time they get to the final three I'm bored and I quit watching but up until then it's fun. I watch The Voice and Survivor with my phone in my hand, Snapchatting a friend (2.5 hours away from me) who is watching and commenting with me at the same time. I also recently discovered the new show Taken, and it's so good. I used to adore House until it ended. Also, Will and Grace.
I'm a planner girl. I use tons of sticker kits off of shops on Etsy and washi tape and ephemera. I have planner subscriptions and a sweet husband who shakes his head but indulges my paper crafting obsession. Since subscribing to Cocoa Daisy, I've also begun memory keeping in my planner.
Washi tape, Project Life cards, scrapbooking embellishments/epherma, planner stickers, planner paper clips
