My music collection is highly eclectic, with new country topping my list, but I have to say, the music that I love most is either relaxing, the kind that lets your mind clear, or something that makes me want to jump up immediately and dance :)
Anything and everything Jane Austen and Edgar Allen Poe for fiction but my FAVorite things to read are cookbooks and vintage housekeeping manuals. :) Anything retro housewife oriented :) always seeking books on the actual life of Einstein, not his theories but his life. Also rereading the Anne books by L.M. Montgomery that I loved growing up.
Things that make me laugh - anything with Cary Grant or John Wayne ( my secret crushes) :) , Fool's Rush In, the Anne movies, movies with lots of music and dancing. Period romances, all things Jane Austen or the Tudors :)
I dream of restoring a mid century home to it's original 50's-ness so I love watching Hazel, Leave-It-To-Beaver, Family Affair and the Andy show. Modern TV I love Bones, Elementary, Downton Abbey, Call the Midwife, Nashville and Rizzoli and Isles. My favorite channels though are the Cooking Channel and Food Network.
I am currently in a paper crafting phase, including scrapbooking but more-so love to do projects, altered art, and LOVE making and receiving handmade cards for all occasions. I am collecting rolos of all sizes with my favorite being the large 4x6 rolos. If we are in an ATC swap, feel free to create a rolo instead if you so desire, I will love it!
I have taken the Handmade Pledge so make or purchase mostly handmade gifts which has opened a whole new world of creativity in me :)
Currently OBSESSED with tiny garlands that can be hung in little nooks and inspire me, Junque Journals and flip-books.
I also sew clothing and home goods from vintage and antique patterns and L-O-V-E that too :)
I love to cook....and eat! A handwritten recipe card, especially a loved used or vintage one brings joy every time. :)
Entering into swaps I really look to improve and expand my crafting/artistic skills with challenges and projects I wouldn't set aside time to do if there were not a deadline :)
The crafting community is so vast and accessible now with the Internet - getting to know other artists feeds creativity and friendships like nothing else :)
I can't say that I really hate anything .... Except spiders! (eek! Please don't send those.) ......but I "don't care for".... Scented items, chocolate candy, earth tone or really pastel colors, cutesy-cutesy things, gory-bloody anything.
My favorite colors are lime greens, aquas and pinks. Retro tones of these are also favs. :)
My favorite things to collect 2nd hand are vintage wedding cake bride and groom toppers and vintage radios or cameras or camera parts of all kinds, love love love them!
I love travel themes, sour candies, retro housewife, Irish/Gaelic words on things, the word "Lucky" or "blessed" on things, the new brights in colors, abstract-y takes on the themes I love, vintage vehicles especially pick-ups, pictures...I love photography, black and white photos, Halloween, Fall and Winter, old people, people's stories of their lives, love old tattered and used recipe books and cards, Irish themed items, Jane Austen anything, Poe anything, Einstein anything.
Please don't stress about sending extras for me, though they are always appreciated, I give hearts and rate based on the swap item :) I will always rate as soon as I receive your item if you are able to do the same I would so appreciate it :)
THANK YOU so much!
I love the holidays! We were asked to add some holiday prefs for group, NOT limited to these, but here are some favs :) I use vintage vehicle themes in all my holiday decorating. Primarily vintage trucks and trailers. LOVE holiday images and snow globes with these in/on them. Christmas- feel free to send religious themes and I love vintage Christmas snowmen and reindeer themes :) Halloween- Vintage themes, headless horseman, Poe. St. Patty's Day- what's an Irish lass to do? Love themes with the word lucky on them and four leaf clovers. Really love all the other holidays too! Anything vintage retro is always a favorite in any holiday theme.
