Geeky girl with crafty undertones. I have three cats. I enjoy a good challenge with my web coding or computer hiccup.
My happy colors are purples, blues, and reds. I tend to shy away from pinks and yellows, but appreciate them in the overall scheme of a larger pattern. When I describe my color preferences I like earthy colors and jewel tones, not to much on the neon unless that's what the swap is trading.
As a newbie swapper, I will gladly ship first when privately swapping with experienced swappers with high ratings.
I don't use lotions much, but soaps (without milk in them) are a fun addition.
I like just about everything, no hip/hop or rap. On an average day, I may listen to modern country, jazz, classical, and/or inspirational/gospel. I prefer clean language and topics for the most part in my music. The words and meanings are important to me. I realize modern country doesn't always follow that standard, consequently I don't listen to all of it.
While I read many genres, my favorite authors write fantasy-McKillip, McCaffrey, L'engle, etc. It's a sad thing that dragons don't fly our skies. I enjoyed the Harry Potter series while it lasted. I have reread most of the books and listened to all of them on CD. I enjoyed the Wheel of Time series, though won't read the last book until all the volumes are released.
I am a jack-of-all-trades master of some. I've never met a craft I didn't enjoy but the obsession with some seems to last longer that others. I make handmade cards, primarily with layered papers and rubber stamps. I scrapbook when I find the time, but chasing a two year old doesn't leave a lot of time to leave things spread out. Acid-free stickers are always fun, I especially enjoy fun quotes and inspirational sayings. A fun rubber stamp is always appreciated. I sew, both clothing and small pieced quilty things. I do small bead project, mostly bracelets and stitch markers. Currently, I'm knitting a crocheting up a storm as they are highly portable and can easily be put out of reach with minimal set-up time when I'm ready to sit and craft again. I also spin my own yarn from fiber using either a spinning wheel or spindle. I have examples of all my work on my blog and Ravelry, if there's something specific you'd like to see, please let me know. Since my little one arrived the blog posts are a bit sporadic where as before he arrived there were several posts a month.
I enjoy teas, either loose or in bags. I am allergic to milk and nut products so many food products are a no-no for me, especially chocolates. I can partake in many hard and gummy candies, I don't like black licorice though. I also don't use artificial sweeteners like aspartame.
I prefer not to receive anything overtly religious unless we have reached in an understanding in the swap. I don't mind positive, uplifting, or inspirational thoughts. Quotations from religious leaders are acceptable as long as they don't push an agenda.
