Hi all! I'm a grad student in my final year. So, I said to myself, 'Self, what can I possibly do to avoid writing my papers?' The answer to that was obviously join a swapping site. I'm really excited about this! I'm organizing a swap right now on LJ and I ran across this site while googling for ideas.

I'm a typical Leo, 26 year old female who lives alone and likes it that way. I probably think too much, I'm incredibly quirky, and I have a phobia about hooved animals.

******10.26.09 -> Howdy all! I think I'm all caught up for now. I've recently been away from home for a couple of weeks and by the time I got back to check my mail box several of the cards from the Halloween card swap had been ruined by water. Since I couldn't tell who'd sent *******what, I went ahead and gave everyone 5s.

I have really diverse tastes.

I love mullet rock/classic rock: AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Bad Company, Boston, Ratt, Journey, Ozzy, Black Sabbath, CCR, Fleetwood Mac.

I like groups who sing in harmony. The Avett Brothers have this awesome old time gospel feel, but sing quirky, contemporary lyrics.

I really like Halloween/spooky themed music -> instrumental, angry, quirky, and funny. It's all good.

The Call of the Wild by Jack London is my absolute favorite.

I like fantasy, high fantasy, urban fantasy, magical reality and some paranormal romance. I like strong female leads, a quirky voice, and humor. I enjoy some horror, but it needs to be contemporary with a fast pace. I like surviving in the wilderness stories.

I like Shakespeare and Oscar Wilde.

I like nonfiction books about leadership, the supernatural, writing, politics, philosophy and emergency management (like disasters and the aftermath).

I like horror, supernatural, fantasy, and sci-fi. -> It, DOOM, Lord of the Rings, Logan's Run, My Bloody Valentine, Saw.

I like old westerns if they're entertaining and humorous -> McClintock, Rio Bravo, Two Mules for Sister Sarah

I like satire and mockumentary -> and Mel Brooks, Idiocracy

I'm not really into stupid/crass comedy, or high dramatic movies. There are some chick flicks that I like but as a whole, I try to steer clear of the genre.

I like Nicolas Cage, Tea Leoni, Will Smith, Jensen Ackles, Vin Diesel, Bruce Willis, Dax Shepard

I love TV a little too much. : )

Again, I really enjoy the horror/supernatural/fantasy/sci-fi genre. My favorite show right now is Supernatural (Thursdays on the CW!), and I've also enjoyed Due South, Buffy/Angel, Dark Angel, Farscape, Firefly, Stargate SG1/SGA, God the Devil and Bob, Xena and Hercules.

I also like quirky shows like Leverage (Wed on TNT), Saving Grace, Rescue Me.

I really like the History/Discover channels for shows about the Old West, ancient history, and their supernatural/urban legends/monster hunting shows.

I even watch the occasional reality tv show. I've enjoyed Survivor, American Idol, Dance Your Ass Off, and Hell's Kitchen.

I've always like making things, but I never really thought of myself as a crafter. I really got into making/decorating picture frames back in the day. I write mostly sci-fi/fantasy/horror/queer themed and sketch. I'm learning how to knit, make jewlery and some other crafts, but being a college student I don't have as much time/space/money as I'd like. : )

However, living in a college town means there's lots of out-of-the way stores to explore for the perfect . . . whatever. I like making themed packages especially for my favorite TV/Movies/Books/Games. I'd love to do a private swap with someone with similar interests. Just PM me.

Hot chocolate and flavored black tea. Spicy and dark or light and fruity are both okay.

Candy: chocolate (milk, dark, and white), tootsie rolls, gummies (livesavers are the best but I like 'em all), sour patch kids, suckers, watermelon, butterscotch, jawbreakers, atomic fire balls.

Other: crackers, pistachio seeds, cookies
