UPDATE: the 1-ratings have started to trickle in, and while it's understandable, i'm a little surprised at some of the quiet malicious-sounding messages i've been receiving. if i were a flaker, and had no intention of honouring all my swaps, why on earth would i keep coming back here? surely i would just disappear without a trace? i am trying my absolute hardest to send out everything i owe as soon as possible, but it isn't easy, and i really don't appreciate people implying that my behaviour is somehow down to spite or laziness, nor the idea that my fathers death isn't an 'adequate excuse'. i couldn't have anticipated how fast his decline was, hence registering for so many swaps, and i could never have guessed that i would become this backlogged. however, if anybody honestly thinks that i ought to have prioritised my swaps over caring for my father, looking after my mother upon his death, handling all of the funeral arrangements (which cost £3,000 that i essentially didn't have) and still finding time to grieve myself, then i think you are being unbelievably unfair. i love this site and i love swapping but considering everything that's happened i had no choice but to put my pending swaps to one side. i have apologised constantly, left updated notes here on my profile, and am still receiving snide little private messages from people. yes, some of you have been waiting months, but please PLEASE try and understand that a) the situation was out of my control, b) i am doing everything i can to catch up, and c) swapping ISN'T the most important thing in the world. all i'm asking is that you bear with me.
incidentally, for the people who have been patient and kind and have sent me messages and letters of condolence, thank you so much. i can't say how much of a help it's been.
birds, owls, deers, woodland critters, scandinavian style, inkstamps, notebooks, baking supplies, mixtapes, zines, postcards, parcels tied with string or butchers twine, angie lewin prints, stickers, seaside souvenirs, old printing blocks, pins and brooches, keyrings, cupcakes, moomins, seashells, homewares, moo cards, the alphabet, manual photography, old reference books, party goods, country living magazine, stop motion animation, flock wallpaper, wonder frog, milkshakes, the national trust, horses, pressed flowers, maps, snowglobes, old bottles and jars, honey pots, decole, orla kiely, beatrix potter, recipe card boxes, vinyl, 40's-70's childrens books, brown paper, classic board games, absurdly long letters, and practically anything vintage. as far as kawaii goes, i like kimoni maneki neko owls, all the san-x food characters, mamegoma and nyan nyan nyanko. i also love shinzi katoh. but i'm not so down with sanrio stuff, and hello kitty makes me want to poke my own eyes out.
disney, sanrio, beads, most stuffed toys, coffee, nuts, and licorice. i don't like fairies or anything really ethereal or celestial. i'm also not a fan of the colour purple, and only like pink if it's paired with green or brown. i tend to dislike most modern things, and will always be happiest with something found at a thrift store, flea market or garage sale. i'm not a huge fan of handmade things unless they're especially well constructed. also, i don't really care for wearing rings or bracelets, and the piercings in my ears have apparently closed over from neglect. necklaces and brooches are gratefully received, though.
