I'm a Sydney brown owl, cross-stitching addict. It all started when I ahem ran out of money for gifts last Christmas, so I turned to making as many things as possible. It turns out, cross stitched goodness goes down a treat with the people in my world! Since then, I've turned by hand to a little bit of embroidery, quilting and crocheting as well, but I always come back to stitching.... That is, in between working full time in the training department at a heavy machinery company and studying Human Resources at uni full time. Yes, I am busy; no, I'm not sane.
I wish I could read anything more than uni related texts and articles...I have a bookshelf full of books that are waiting for me. Last year I bought so many books that I didn't end up getting to that I've banned myself from buying anything else this year.
I've only broken that rule a couple of times....craft books should be exempt right?!
One of the greatest procrastination tools ever invented. When I'm meant to be doing other things, I watch Heroes, Dexter, United States of Tara, Packed to the Rafter, Skins, Spooks, Pride and Prejudice, Summer Heights High, West Wing, Boston Legal....I could keep going, but I think I've demonstrated by problem enough.
Anything involving needlework! I got started with cross-stitch, but since then I've fallen in love with all kinds of embroidery, especially if it's on something that is going to get a lot of use. The more practical and the more people see modern, attractive, individual handmade goodness, the happier I am.
I love great food. Food that is well thought out, healthful, delicious, interesting, exciting, different. I am also vegan. This means I don't eat anything that comes from an animal. No meat. Yes, that includes fish, chicken, red meat, game, offel, any meat. Also, no diary products (cheese, milk, cream etc), honey or eggs. And no by-products like rennet, ghee, gelatin etc.
Getting around these requirements has been a lesson in lateral thinking, but it's also been fantastic fun. I've learnt I like a lot more foods that I didn't know existed before, and there are so many flavours out there to try! The above paragraph makes it sound like I'm quite restricted in what I eat, but honestly, I have trouble choosing what to eat.
I LOVE red. But really, any colours will do. Even brown! I love rainbow things, pastels, brights, retro, anything!

I'm so bummed Soph. Pretty much all the swaps I'm doing I have ended up with dodgy partners :( Most have not even sent.
Hope you're enjoying swap-bot and the Crafting Queens and Gimme Mail groups.
There are a few Aussie groups here for cheaper postage swaps.
If you want to get some mail swaps done to get some ratings just let me know in a message and we'll sort something out.
First message!! Whoohoo!
