I'm a graduate student in New York, and previously went to college in good ol' Texas. I tend to like things on the simple side, with a clean and modern styling. My favorite color combination is white and tealy-blue.
I also have a profound respect for architecture, history, and the visual and performing arts. People tend to describe me as introspective and "cute."
I don't like clutter, so my room doesn't have much furniture and is quite organized. I do pretty much everything from homework to eating on the floor.
I sew, cross-stitch, and embroider, and I love to incorporate ribbon into everything. I've also done some crocheting and jewelry-making, but I pride myself on my line drawings. I love my exacto-knife. I'm without a sewing machine for the time being because it was too heavy to bring, but I really like to hand sew.
I have no interest in scrapbooking and I have an irrational dislike for adhesives like tape and stickers.
I can't cook worth a darn, but I'm a pretty good baker. I really like making cookies, cupcakes, and bread. I recently bought a bread machine and am still playing around with it.
I appreciate the classics, am fond of dry humor, and like books that tend to be a bit slower paced and make me think.
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - Douglas Adams, Heart of Darkness - Joseph Conrad, Sophie's World - Jostein Gaarder, The Scarlet Letter - Nathaniel Hawthorne, Ishmael - Daniel Quinn, Dandelion Wine - Ray Bradbury
My music collection is pretty wide-ranging. I listen to most genres except for hip-hop and rap and I'm not a big fan of classical. I like upbeat dance music, but some days I'll listen to opera. I listen to some foreign music, mostly in French.
Philip Glass, Britney Spears (don't judge!), Groove Coverage, ABBA, Ladyhawke, Jem, Cali
I'm a fan of the classics, fantasies, and what are probably considered "downer" movies. I'm not big on chick flicks or movies with really happy endings. I like movies that make me cry.
Imitation of Life, Labyrinth, Pan's Labyrinth, A Little Princess, Casablanca
colors = soft pastels, blues and greens, and neutrals; dislike primary colors and strongly dislike orange, red, and yellow; I like silver and gunmetal but not gold
ribbon = I adore ribbon of pretty much any kind - satin, grosgrain, sheer, patterned, wired, whatever
fabric, buttons, zippers, embroidery floss = anything that can be used for some sewing or embroidery projects is great
books, stationery, paper, pens = reading, writing, and drawing does one good, but I don't scrapbook and I really dislike stickers or anything adhesive
themes = architecture, artwork, mythology, flowers, Victorian, and pretty things are great - stuff with history and thought - but please don't send anything relating to animals, goth (as in skulls), or anything extremely religious

Hi there! I see you haven't been on in a while, but maybe you will have some ideas...I will be in Beijing in a few weeks and would like to know if there is a place where they sell resin beads and cabochons fairly cheap?
