About Me

I live in northern England with my three boys - 1 boyfriend and 2 cats. We have a little flat stuffed to the rafters with books, art, craft materials, cat toys and music equipment. I'm currently looking for a job (I'm an Early Years Practitioner), so i spend my days pottering around the flat, writing letters and making stuff.

My half lounge half craft studio is a collage of all that I am. I am in love with books of all sorts, old, new, fiction, non-fiction and always have one in my handbag. I'm a paper and ephemera junkie and can't walk past a stationery shop without going in.

My favourite colours at the moment are teal and mustard, pink and grey and pea green.

I love food, cooking and eating it. I can't decide which is my favourite cuisine out of indian, chinese, italian or japanese! I can't get enough of cheese fondue! I love cheese! I have baking crazes and we end up eating cakes and biscuits for weeks!

My favourite animals are cats(big and domestic), otters and donkeys. I absolutely adore birds of prey, especially owls and also peacocks, hummingbirds and swans are pretty cool too.

I love learning about different countries and cultures. My dream holiday is to Japan and I love European cities especially Paris and Amsterdam.

My favourite flowers are tulips and poppies. My favourite season is Autumn. I love nature. I'm always drinking tea (only plain black).

I take 2 cameras with me everywhere, a digital one and my trusted lomo.

Some of my favourite things in the world are summer rain, harbours, cups of tea, clean socks, pyjamas, fresh snow, cats, sunset, shooting stars, lighthouses and windmills, lomo, autumn, donkeys, campfires...

I'm currently in the midst of planning my fancy dress birthday party - its a Where the Wild Things Are theme and I'm going as Max!

Favorite Books

Far too many to list - childhood favourites include, Peter Pan, Pippi Longstocking, Where the Wild Things Are, Chalet School and Moomins.

I collect craft books - old, new and used.

Favorite Movies

I love most movies but especially Anime, Hitchcock and old black and white movies. I also really enjoy foreign language movies like Amelie, Life is Beautiful and Run Lola Run. My favourite film of all time is 'My Neighbour Totoro'.

Favorite Crafts

Photography, art, crochet, papercrafts, lomo, collage, atcs, handmade notebooks, knitting, journals, sewing, amigurumi...

Favourite Scents

Jasmine, basil, fresh cut grass, clean laundry, roast chicken, baking, chocolate (walking through Cadbury's World is heaven!), christmas...

Comment: Oh my god is it my birthday?? Your generous and wonderful yellow and brown swap really made me feel like someone threw me a surprise party :) I love EVERYTHING! The handmade items especially - the amazing bag, the cat doll (!), the tin, the charm. I really appreciate all of your hard work on these. And the sewing materials, the towel, the chopsticks, chocolate, my favourite lip butter!... You memorized my profile :) I'm in love with this swap - no other way of saying this :) You really are the best and anyone swapping with you is the luckiest. Thank you a hundred times!

Thank you very much for your very interesting letter on names. I find the difference in popular names between countries very intruiging. For instance, my nephew is named Oliver and that name is very rare in the US. On your sheet you put that Oliver was one of the most popular british names.
