I'm 42 years old. I live together with my boyfriend for about 12 years. We do not have children. I work as a seller in a shoeshop for 20 years.
I think animals are the most special creatures of nature. Animals do what they need to do, nothing more and nothing less. So postcards with animals are very welcome. Postcards with the name of an animal-happening (inclusive name of place) are even more welcome. Think about: zoo, horsery, cat or dogshow, cheetah-farm,national aquaria, birdshow, and so on.
At home we have serveral pets. We have 7 snakes, 6 pinktongue skinks, 2 bluetongue skinks, and 4 giant snails (agatina). We do breed with the snakes and the skinks, but it's a hobby-breed. If the animals do not give birth, they are still my beloved pets.
The reason I became a member of this site is because I collect postcards. I collect them storebought, handwritten, stamped and naked thought the post. I do not like handmade cards to receive. I make handmade cards myself, but I prefer to send them away to ill people or birthdays. I do not collect unused postcards. If I receive an unused postcard, I will send it away. An exception on this, are ad-cards. If an adcard is not written, I will still keep it in my collection.
Themes I prefer: 1)animals 2)touristic cards (town, land or event) 3)stone or wooden windmills 4)lighthouses 5)coca cola (coca cola cards are mostly free adcards, and that is no problem)
Other themes I love: watertowers, steamtrains, bicycles without persons on it, dragons, fantasy, unusual houses, animals in the snow, reprinted old ads, africa, antarctica, mushrooms, books/reading, men in suit playing the piano, sesamestreet, disney, warner bros, Jip & Janneke, autumn.
Themes I do not really appreciate: 1)handmade or homeprinted cards 2)people
But it's your choice what to send. So anything is welcome. I like to swap free cards for free cards.
I am a member of: postcrossing, atcsforall and hobbyjournaal At all of these sites I use the name Taeniura.
I make inchies and atc's, but I prefer not to trade them over mail. In The Netherlands we have once a year a national trading day for atc's and once a year a national trading day for inchies (for inchies is last sunday of october) Trading in real life is so much fun!
I'm a member of a dutch yahoogroup for inchies. We always welcome new members from all over the world, but the main language spoken is dutch. Most people on this yahoogroup can speak english. If you are interrested, you can mail me.
I love special stamps. I save them in a stockbook, but I also use them again on handmade cards and atc's, and sometimes on inchies. Special stamps on postcards would be great!
My choice of music is rather dark. I mostly listen to metal or gothic rock. My favourite cd's are: elodia (Lacrimosa) Fatherland (Ancient Rites) The first the last and always (sisters of mercy) Beneath the remains (Sepultura) Dusk and her embrace (Cradle of filth)
I also like vampire postcards, grim reaper postcards, postcards with dragons (from the Middle Ages, not the asian ones), gothic drawings (favole), halloween themes, witches, and any postcard from Alchemy gothic
I like to travel to far away destiny's, but we cannot affort to do this every year. Last year we went on a safari in Africa (Kenya and Tanzania) and this was great. I'm saving money to go to Antarctica within a few years.
I have no reason to flake. I would like to use this site for a long time. So if you haven't received what you should have, please mail me, and I will send it again. And I know from Postcrossing, sometimes cards just disappear. Nobody knows where they are, just gone. But if you contact me, I will send a new one. Thank you.
