Comment: I cannot tell you how much I was anticipating the Ghoulies letter. And then the Ghoulies letter arrived. I AM SO GLAD YOU WATCHED THIS FILM. It's really funny because the dinner scene with the glasses is actually the scene that made me think, "I need to recommend this to Max." The sequels are all so funny too. Tbh not much to say other than excellent letter, and as a nerd I found the attention to detail with the rituals very true to the source material and enjoyable to watch. The ghoulies are in fact the main stars in Ghoulies go to College so definitely check that one out. And think on the next movie!!!!!! AhhhH!!!

Comment: I have now read the letter and taken it in a few times. First of all, I was floored by the commentary about the guy walking around a lot. I ceded this point to you, then got to the part about your mom referring to Exorcist 2 instead. What the fuck. The Exorcist franchise is indeed a man on the move, all of them I guess. We see traversing as a plot point in movies like The Blair Witch Project, but the walking itself is not used as visual exposition. Interesting. I noticed in Tremors (a letter is coming!) that movement is usually done via car, which highlights the isolated nature of the site the people are at. As for the intro to the Exorcist, I think it is badass and I think maybe it just hasn't aged well. The movie Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla also uses similar juxtaposition; indeed, even Backrooms begins with a separate film incased within the larger story. You may not personally enjoy this method of storytelling and that's valid, but I did have to defend it lol. I will admit that the story at the beginning of the movie thing is always fucking boring like you're watching something for a class. I am not sure if I followed fully about suspending disbelief. I think some elements may just be dated socially but also somehow you paid attention to more details in this movie than I did because I've seen it like twenty times and don't know what the fuck you meant about the recording, though I believe you that it's in the film. I guess I prefer this as an ambience film moreso than to watch it closely, which you've made me realize I've never even done myself. I just saw it as a kid because my mom kept telling me it was the scariest movie ever and then bought it for me for some reason, and it made a strong impression on me because it taught me that my mom is a coward and I thought the desecration of the cross was badass when I was too young to understand the implications about sexual abuse. I did think there was merit to Kerras looking for a worldly explanation and Regan's mother turning to the spiritual. Let me know you have read this lol
