My Dear friends,

I shall be hosting another card party at The Rose and Crown and hope to see you all there. There is nothing so enjoyable as a spirited game of cards, no matter the game. Shall we carry on making our own personal decks of playing cards? These cards shall be unique to our village being created solely by us. What a perfect past time for those rainy afternoons.

This shall be a progressive swap in which we make six cards at a time, we shall all be making the same cards, so there is no confusion about who has received what. We will continue with the suit of spades and craft the Ace, two, three, four, five and six of spades. The face of the card should depict the number or face on the card and the suit, but the back of the card may be decorated as you like. To keep the cost of postage down, these cards should not be heavily embellished, nor should there be any protruding pieces over the edges so they may be stored easily. You may make the backs of all six of your cards the same, or you may choose to be creative and assign a different design to each of them. The choice is the sender’s in this swap. Use your imagination, add a little whimsy by making the royalty prominent people of our time or use those lovely fashion plates for your images.

To give the fine details, we will be making six playing cards which are the size of an ATC which is 3 ½ x 2 ½ inches or 9 x 6 cm, which shall be the Ace through the 6 of Spades for this round. The back of the card is sender’s choice in design, the front should give a clear depiction of the suit and number/royalty of the card. When you send your cards to your partner, why not write a little journal entry or the upcoming card party Lady Elizabeth is hosting.

Let’s have fun with this swap. If there are any queries, please do ask, we are all happy to assist.

With kind regards, Lady Elizabeth
