Description:

International, 1 partner, flat mail / cost of one stamp to mail - but does need time to complete!

I hosted a swap like this in my Ghosts group, and it was fun, so I thought we could try it here too. This swap is type 3 because it's time intensive, but will just be a letter weight to mail. I'm always willing to do US only versions or email versions if it's requested.

So! For this swap! Tell you partner about one of your relatives. It can be anyone related to you, and should be someone who you have a lot of memories of, so you can share stories with your partner. Please tell your partner:

Which relative you are writing about. Is this a grandparent, aunt/uncle, cousin ... ? How are you related to them? Is this person in your mom or dad's family? Or are you writing about your in laws or step-parents/family? No need to do a full family tree, but describe your relationship to the person. Or, include a family tree, if you feel like it. :)

Tell at least one story (memory) of this person. Use as many details as possible to paint a good picture. :)

This swap should be a few paragraphs long. You can type the story and details or handwrite. Or create a flipbook or zine or other booklet to send to your partner. Pictures are not required, but you are very welcome to send copies if you wish.

Sound like a fun time? I grew up with family history - my mom's favorite activity was to go to cemeteries to see "who we're related to" and clean up graves. Or go to libraries and look through old newspapers. She would even knock on a church's door to ask to see baptismal records! She would LOVE the family history websites! :)

Questions? Comments? Concerns? Please send me a PM. I will respond as soon as I can. Remember, you do not have to share anything you don't feel comfortable sharing. This is your comfort level. But it can still be a fun time. Since this swap isn't profile based, feel free to start on it ahead of time.
