“The Thanksgiving Ladies’ (and men’s) Society” 🥧✉️🍂 A cozy, vintage mail swap inspired by the women and men who pass down recipes, gather everyone around the table, and keep traditions going—with a little nod to Sarah Josepha Hale. Sarah was a writer and magazine editor who spent years campaigning for a national Thanksgiving celebration and helped popularize many of its familiar foods. So we’re taking a little inspiration from her and creating our own Thanksgiving happy mail! For ONE partner, create an envelope that feels like it was tucked inside an old family cookbook. Include:
The history can come through in the old-fashioned invitation, recipe cards, and women’s-magazine style—no research report required. 😂 And if this inspires you to do a little exploring and discover how much of our modern Thanksgiving grew out of traditions developed long after the Pilgrims, I love to see it! Maybe you’ll find a new story to share around the table. Use what you have, add your own personality, and make something you’d be excited to find in your mailbox. Purchased extras aren’t required! Sign up by: Sunday, November 1, 2026 Mail by: Friday, November 13, 2026 Partners: ONE Location: USA only Please include your Swap-bot username and the swap name. Pull up a chair—the Thanksgiving Ladies’ Society has a place for you! 🥧 The title of the swap is a cutesy head nod toward the era in which Thanksgiving became official - any gender is allowed to participate. | |
