Type:Type 3: Package or craft
Rating requirement:4.95
Last day to signup/drop:September 30, 2011
Date items must be sent by:October 14, 2011
Number of swap partners:1
Description:

For this swap, you will take a journal that has about 100 pages and fill it with lists. The lists should be a mixture of mundane things like fave colors, fave movies, etc to harder things like top 10 regrets, people you have lost. Please do not make all the lists simple no thought type of lists.

You will make at least 100 lists. AT LEAST. I have been working on my journal for a while now and realize it is very hard to fill a journal with lists without repeating yourself or something.

The cow print composition type notebooks are the type I recommend. They have 100 pages, can be easily slipped into a 9x 12 envelope to ship.

You can either just write the pages or get a little creative if you like. It is totally up to you though. You can even put a couple lists per page if you feel it is not full enough.

Here is the tricky part...when you join, START YOUR JOURNAL NOW Before I assign partners I will message you and ask for proof that you have been working on your journal. Scans, pics, etc.If you can not scan or provide pictures, I will accept a list of 50-75 lists you have already done. If you do not reply or do not provide proof of your journal, I will ban you from the swap.

BUT WHY??? Because I am tired of doing time intensive journal swaps just to get flaked on by people, having to reroute everything because one or two people decide they no longer want to be part of swap bot.

I am making the dates between now and the partners assigned day fairly long. THIS IS WHEN YOU WORK ON THE JOURNAL I am making the dates between the partners assigned and send out date fairly short because when I assign partners, you should be pretty close to done. This is to prevent flakers from joining the swap If you have questions about this, feel free to ask. I will try to answer them.

You must have completed at least 50 swaps or more. You must have at least 20 Type 3 swaps. No exceptions. Apologies to newbies. Keep at it and I will rehost this swap again.

You must have a 4.95 to join.

This swap is USA only. Feel free to start an international one.

You will have 1 partner.

If you have already passed 100 lists, CONGRATS! You are done with your journal. For those who have not gotten to 100 yet, now you know what you have to get to. I apologize to people who have finished a journal with 150 or 200 lists. I just realized how hard it is to hit even 100

Please do NOT join unless you have read the entire swap very carefully.

mousepoo 05/21/2011 #

That is a lot of lists.

ElizabethObviously 05/21/2011 #

Yup it is alot. I figure one list might inspire another...might inspire another and so on and so on. It's like a stream of consciousness kinda

draco 05/21/2011 #

i'd join, but i have no way of scanning photo's of the journal.

Deeno1105 05/21/2011 #

I also don't have any way of scanning the journal in progress. I could try to take a photo but I'm not really good at computer technology and adding photos. That's why my profile is so plain. I can't comprehend how to do these things but if a photo will work I could join. Maybe my husband will help with the photo stuff.

tamtamlee 05/21/2011 #

I love these kinds of swaps! When we ask the question "Favorite Colors" Do we answer theme or does are partners? Do we get are journals back? I'm watching now till i'm able to get out and get some journals this week.

ElizabethObviously 05/21/2011 #

You will be creating the lists. You will write the the list. This is not a swap where you create the list prompt and your partner fills it in. This is about you. Though the list prompts would be a cool swap too. Since people are having a trouble about the scanning and pic part I might think of something else though what I am not sure. any ideas on that part??

badandknowsit2 05/21/2011 #

i cant scan either but if everyone has to have a 4.95 rating and 20 type three swaps and no newbies allowed that should be enough proof I would think

SGriffin 05/21/2011 #

Your local UPS Store / Kinko's can scan items for you. Although there is a cost.

SGriffin 05/21/2011 #

For that matter so can Officemax / Office Depot

ElizabethObviously 05/21/2011 #

And please understand you dont have to scan ALL pages. That would be crazy. I just mean maybe 5-10.

as for having a 4.95 rating and 20 type 3 swaps...yes sometimes it IS enough. But in a swap I am currently hosting a couple people who met those criteria have disappeared.

aether 05/21/2011 #

I was thinking about putting the required proof of progress on my journal swap, but I didn't know if people would be up to doing that. It is a good idea though, because it is so time intensive.

gteapot 05/22/2011 #

I make a to do list every day for work, can I include those in my journal? I also have several lists for projects, etc that I plan on doing or supplies I need, can I include those

catnipitis 05/22/2011 #

Just watching this one--would absolutely love to join, but I'm not sure I'm going to have the required number of swaps under my belt in time! Perhaps if this is done again at a later time, I'll be able to join it then!

ElizabethObviously 05/22/2011 #

Lists of any kind work but try not to include too many of the same things, the same kinds of lists

LadyStephanie 05/23/2011 #

EO - I like it! As for qualifying to join labor intensive journal swap with a substantial time investment required...I am all for making people jump through hoops.

Since scanning isn't an option for everyone, how about this:

Everyone needs to send EO a PM of their minimum 50 prompts for their journals? That way you will at least know that they have put some thought into it AND that they have a basis on which to fill their journals.

ElizabethObviously 05/23/2011 #

I like that idea Steph.

Reallusionista 05/26/2011 #

So since you want a journal with 100 pages and 199 lists...this means our lists can only be one page long each? I want to join either way, but was just wondering because I'm an avid list maker and quite a few of them tend to be more than a page long...but I can cut them down if need be :)

Reallusionista 05/26/2011 #

p.s. you may have noticed that I don't have 20 type three swaps YET, but I'm starting my journal anyways, and hoping to have atleast twenty by signup deadline.

badandknowsit2 05/26/2011 #

another food for thought is you may really want to get started i have done 31 list already and mine is so messy i wouldnt send it so i have to rewrite them just an idea you might not be as messy as me

ElizabethObviously 05/27/2011 #

Well, it won't necc be 199 lists. But the journal should be full. So if lists go to more pages than others, that is totally fine.

Reallusionista 05/27/2011 #

Ok, great :) For the time being, I'm actually creating my lists on listography.com, and plan to keep them there until I know I have enough swaps under my belt, then will transfer them to my journal!!

TraySeeH 05/30/2011 #

I like LadyStephanie's idea, I can't scan and any place that can is at least 45 minutes away. That's what happens when you live in the country. Getting started but keeping it on my watch list till closer.

leilx 06/10/2011 #

I am definitely thinking of doing this again; I did it last year and never got one from my partner. The bummer was that I really wanted to keep my lists. I didn't want to give them up forever. So could I maybe send an SASE and get mine back once my partner had read it? There was useful stuff in there!

ElizabethObviously 06/10/2011 #

That would be something you could def talk to your partner about :D

duckduckgoose 06/14/2011 #

I worked on mine today for an hour and a half. It's really addictive but also very challenging thinking of prompts. I won't freak though as I'm 20 in or so and still have lots of time.

ElizabethObviously 06/14/2011 #

if all else fails look up some lists online. Also I know if you search 100 lists on here, someone used to host a bunch of lists type swaps.

USAFwife 06/20/2011 #

I"m going to watch for now, but I like the idea and LOVE that you're checking on people so much! I haven't done a journal swap in a year b/c the last one I was in, was very time intensive, and my partner (the HOST!!!) flaked on me! So, I did my whole journal and mailed it and all, but never got anything in return. :"(

melydia 06/21/2011 #

I'm watching for now (my summer is going to be SO hectic and I want to make sure I can really commit before signing up) but if anyone needs list suggestions, try here: http://30daysoflists.blogspot.com/2011/04/30-days-of-lists-complete-collection.html

luminescentlove 07/ 3/2011 #

anyone want to start an international one... id really like to do this!

BambooPanda13 07/11/2011 #

Hi, I just want to make sure I do this absolutely right since we have to get started beforehand, if I make a list say for: Favourite colour schemes. Well if I only have 5 to list is that okay? Can I fill up the extra space with doodles or art or pictures or something? Or do we have to make questions so that we will have something for the whole page? Maybe write little side notes or something to fill some space?

tybear009 07/11/2011 #

PLEASE repost this in the future. I don't currently meet the requirements and I would love to do something like this in the future,

grandmaroro 07/18/2011 #

My apologies but I must drop out. So sorry.

ElizabethObviously 07/18/2011 #

I would TRY to fill the page with your answers but doodles and art would be cool too.

I think people need to remember though that some people will have an ALL written journal, just words, just writing.

And some people will make it more like an art journal type. It is totally up to you really.

ElizabethObviously 07/31/2011 #

How is everyone doing on their lists???? What number are you on? Or where in your journal...1/4 way, 1/2 way? DONE????? lol

PisceanMama 08/14/2011 #

I haven't started yet (since I just found it today) but I LOVE this idea! There are a lot of times when I think I'm going to have time to finish something, then have life hit me upside the head. I always thought that doing a swap like this where you have to have all (or most) of it done before hand would be a great way to do it. I'm keeping myself on the watch-list but I'm going to try to work on it through the sign up date. :)

TC 08/18/2011 #

I'm doing my lists on listography.com (thanks for the suggestion, @FragileBystander !), and will transfer them later. I also don't have scanning capabilities, but I could send the host a photo from my phone.

Fleshb4soul 08/30/2011 #

wow.. Ok.. I knowwwwwwwwwwwww I am no where remotely close to join, But.. Just had to send a Kudos and a smile for when I get there!! Lol This looks like an excellent journal swap!! Bravo !! I may just play along on my own..hahaha.. Can't wait to see up coming swaps like this. Peace

purplcircles 09/10/2011 #

Crossing my fingers to get to 20 by the 30th- I'm doing the journal anyway, so at least I will be ready for the next one, if I don't make it. This is such a fun idea- List Freaks Unite! :-)

BambooPanda13 09/12/2011 #

Oh you changed it.. Well now my journal is going to have random blank pages in it, I hope my partner doesn't mind. =(

I guess I am almost done then, I counted and I did 98 so far so yay for me I'll be done with it today! I'll try to fill in some of the other pages but that would be like 100 more pages to try to doodle on or something... So again, future partner please do not be upset when you see random blank pages in the journal!

Blacvulturetravels 09/14/2011 #

dang this is awesome!

Blacvulturetravels 09/14/2011 #

dang this is awesome!

ElizabethObviously 09/16/2011 #

Oh don't worry mine will have blank pages also.

shortmommy23 09/26/2011 #
