Hello from the Yukon! Recently moved up here after visiting a couple of times, like most people.

I'm not sure what path my mail takes to get from the north to you. It probably goes to Edmonton, or Vancouver or Toronto, before taking off. Things have gotten to Europe really fast, about a week. To Canada and the US is a bit slower. Go figure.

Facts about the North:
- In Whitehorse we have about 20 hours of daylight on June 21, compared to about 5 hours on December 21.
- Our most successful campground is the Walmart parking lot.
- Buying groceries kind of sucks, but it's not as bad as you're imagining.

postcards

nature - mountains, lakes, oceans, flowers, animals ...

engineering - roads, highways, buildings, skylines, bridges, trains ...

and also - the quirkiest thing in your town, famous places, not-so-famous places ...

food/drink

tea - I prefer black tea over anything, but also like rooibos, white, green, oolong, pretty much anything but chai.

coffee - I drink coffee at work but I'm not really a "coffee drinker" so the fancy stuff would probably be wasted on me.

hot chocolate - is always nice.

sweets - I really love chocolate and candy, especially things unique to your region.

meat - Mostly vegetarian, fish often, chicken rarely, beef and pork never.

dislikes - ginger, spicy candies

allergies - none!

Comment: Thank you so much for this swap. First let me start off by telling you how much I love the way you decorated the addresses on the envie. So your parcel arrived today and I love the two postcards you sent me =D. I have listed on my profile that I do not drink tea or coffee but you two tea bags actually are just what I needed after all. You see I am starting my garden by seed this year. I read on a green earth website that tea leaves added to the seeding pods encourage faster growth. So it was like the best swap ever to get when I was wondering how I could just buy one or two tea bags...lol. What a win win situation your swap ended up for me and I love it. You are an awesome swapper and thanks for everything =D.
Response: Thanks for the lovely comment :) Sometimes I give my plants a bit of tea or black coffee after it's gone cold and they seem to like it. Putting the tea leaves right in the soil might be even better. I'm happy my oversight ended up being useful!

Comment: Well hello neighbor! :) We go through Whitehorse almost yearly for the last 5 years on our trips down to the states. Getting ready to head through there again this May :) I've never been to Skagway...a bit out of the way for us. Been to Hyder, AK though! neat little town :) I think that was the only border crossing that really took his time asking us questions - we think it was because he was bored hahah. Thank you for the great card with the beautiful scene :)
Response: You should try to make it to Skagway some time, the drive is beautiful and the town is cute and full of cruise ship tourists. I made the trip out to Anchorage for the long weekend. The city was great but the drive sucked. Thanks for rating :)

Hello there, I just want to say thank you for the very very sweet card and tea. I loved the tea and never seen that tea here ever only in cold form.
