This is coming a few days late because I was preparing to come back to Canada. Your 15 question #8 swap made it to the Top 10 list (I think the peak was #3). You're always thinking of such interesting questions, it's no wonder people love your swaps! I'll be joining a couple myself as soon as I make sure the Internet works properly here (remember what happened when I was in China?) Anyways, keep up the great swaps!
Hi Vanessa!! I'm Maureen, your partner for the EASY: Profile Comment #6 swap :). I would love to do a private swap with you because we have several things in common! I am very easy to please too, and always put my best effort to send a beautiful package :), so let me know what you think.
Hi! This is your swap for the
APDG ~ Mythological Animals Series ~ LETTER A ;-)
I chose the AOS SI ~ Beautiful men & women spirit creatures!
Aos Si/Aos Sidhe literally translates to, “People of the Mounds,†which acts as testament to their dwelling beneath the earth, or in FairyMounds. In many Gaelic cultures, they are known as, “The Good Neighbors,†or, “The Folk,†which further associates them with Faery lore. They are both honored and feared among the locals, for they can both be benevolent and malevolent creatures depending on how they're treated.
My daughter bought this beautiful Print named Midsummer Eve by Edward Robert Hughes c. 1908...at a flea market ;-)
Enjoy & Blessings, cc
Info: The Apkallu (aka Abgal) were advisers sent by the God Enki to mankind to spread culture. There was seven of them. They were to have come from the sea to dwell among me and said to have given men morals (called Me). arts and crafts (LIKE SWAP=BOT!). They are depicted as half fish/ have men, a man in a fish costume, a man with a bird head or a man with wings.
Mary Magdalene by Girolamo Savoldo is one of my favorite pieces of art relating to the Christ mythos. There are several pieces that I like, but this one comes to mind because of my not-so-subtle fascination with Mary Magdalene.
