About Me

I like gnomes, mushrooms, reading, tea, vegetarian cooking, camping and sciencey projects! My favorite colors are jewel tones, earth tones and especially purple, yellow, green, and grey! Copper, silver gunmetal/hematite are my favorite metallics. I think steampunk and diy are pretty awesome! I have a 9 month old puppy(50lb so far!) and an orange cuddly cat. Both have stripes! I like picture of fruits and vegetables, all styles. I enjoy learning about medicinal an culinary herbs. My favorite flowers are dandelions, daffodils, poppies, and bluebonnets, but I love all flowers plants trees and such! Especially trees and any botanical with roots(I love roots!)!

Favorite Books

"One Hundred Years of Solitude" by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, "Wild Fermentation" by Sandor Katz, "The Mists of Avalon" by Marion Zimmer Bradley, "House of Leaves" by Mark Z. Danielwski, "A Language Older Than Words" By Derrick Jensen. How to books, Survival books, Histories, Short Stories, Radical fiction and nonfiction, Crazy Cookbooks, Old Cookbooks, specific/technique cookbooks, other types of recipe books(ie cleaners, crafts, body products, herbal medicine, etc)

Favorite Crafts

The crafting I do consists mostly of hand sewing, card making, clothing alteration(I really like bleaching designs onto shirts, bags, etc) and stencils. My biggest Hobbies are cooking and gardening which are of course "crafts" if you do them right! I have been really interested in fiber arts lately. I have a drop spindle that I am trying to get practice with. I know rudimentary crochet. I would love to learn weaving. I love essential oils and herbs. I've been making my own perfumes, teas, body products and remedies. Any supplies or advice/ideas for any of these things would be awesome!

What I would enjoy receiving

Anything would be appreciated, I have pretty eclectic tastes! I would LOVE to receive handmade items! I have sensitive skin so watch the creepy chemicals if applicable! I don't have pierced ears, but I love stick ons! Tea wise I'm up for anything! I especially love interesting herbals and weird/new/interesting/uncommon flavors, but the classics are great too! Loose-leaf or bags are great, just let me know what it is!

Comment: Brilliant teee!! How did you draw on the tshirt? with dipping a pencil in dye and drawing with it? looks amazing xxxx thank you!!
Response: Sooooo glad you liked it! I used a bleach pen, made for dotting stains, to draw on it. Had to draw it quick! I sent the local missed connections page in case you were wondering about the random paper!

Comment: Thanks! (and also for the Last Airbender stickers) - I make a version of the mango breakfast - If there aren't any ripe mangos I use frozen ones and then whizz it together with an equal amount of vanilla yogurt. I love orange food! :0)

Comment: I've never seen that Texas wildflowers card, I love the darker blue background. Thanks. And thanks for the book titles, so different from those that I would have chosen, I'll have to look them up. I've got to tell you, though, I had a really tough time reading your handwriting (and I'm a fourth grade teacher, so I've read all sorts of script!) Thanks, Tara.
Response: I'm glad you liked the card! I appologize for my handwriting, my teachers were always baffled too! I normaly write in cursive because it slows me down, but I was trying to get your card out before the postman came. Seeing what other people are reading is always interesting!

Thanks for the kind rating :) The pictures are from a pogo printer. I like the small size of it, plus if you peel the backing off the pictures, you can use it as stickers :)

Hello, upon reading your profile I am intrigued. Very nice... I'm gonna check out a few of the books listed: I see we have a common interest in herbology, herbal medicine, and essential oils. I love Frankenscence and Myrrh combined or alone. I also do crochet. I joined the 'Gnome Staionary' swap that is how I spotted your proilfe.
