I am a Mental Health Counseling student and will finally be a therapist May '27! I've worked in the mental health field for years now and am excited to take this next step.
A part of why I love working in mental health is for the connection, and being part of this community allows me to do the same and express myself artistically/with crafts as well :)
Since I was about 12 years old I have been into emo/screamo, pop-punk/ punk, and related music. Some of my favorite artists are Neck Deep and Underoath (I saw them live in 2023).
I love murder-mystery books/psychological thriller on my free time! I don't have any particular favorite authors, because I prefer to read an array of writing styles. I especially enjoy dual-timeline and parallel narratives.
I have a kindle that is very efficient, especially for reading at night with the light or on the go, but whenever I want a book in the moment or B&N has a $5 cafe book special, I enjoy a hardcopy. I do not collect books. I love passing them on if I have a hardcopy that I've read.
I'm not big into movies or TV for that matter, but fun fact (this could be in the book or movie category) I have a black pug named Pennywise. My wife named him because she is obsessed with IT, but I promise at certain angles he looks like Pennywise creeping up from the sewer, hence his nickname - Sewer Boy.
In my free time I love crafting with my wife. I love paper crafting (making cards, bookmarks, etc) with wax seals, stamps, watercolor paint, washi, stickers, etc. I recently got into fountain pens and using them to journal.
I am really into olive greens, burgundy, black, creams, browns right now. I love gothic and dark academia themes as well.
