Hi, my name is Shelby. Im 23 years old. I LOVE art and anything creative. I've dabbled with many mediums through the years including clay, charcoal, pencils, markers, sewing, pastels, beading, and others. My most recent obsession has been papercrafting and happy mail!!
Im a huge coffee fan and will end up drinking 3 or 4 large cups a day at least. I'm also very excited to start drinking and collecting tea because I have always loved the concept but only started liking the taste recently. I'm trying to build a collection so I'd love to receive any type! I guess I tend to like sweeter things :). I love receiving Clipper teas! I also Love receiving teas from other countries!
I love animals of all types! I've grown up around dogs so I have a soft spot for puppies (especially German Shepherds).
I'm dyslexic and apologize for any spelling mistakes I'm usually pretty good with catching them but just in case I apologize ahead of time.
If you have any questions or just want to talk feel free to reach out!
As I said before I absolutely love crafting. I've been collecting crafting supplies for 10+ years and am ecstatic to have an outlet that can use so much of my supplies! I finally have some amazing crafts to use my 100+ rolls of washi tape on!
Recently I've especially been obsessed with Junk Journaling and making embellishments. I have been obsessed with finding pieces of printed vellum, embossed paper, or really any interesting papers!
Some supplies I love to receive and add to my collections are:
I’ve been obsessed with fairytale themed items lately! This means things like Fairy, Princess, Alice in Wonderland, Little red Riding hood, ect!
I’m currently working on a Peter Pan Junk Journal! So anything you have that could contribute to this is greatly appreciated!
I’m also working on a Jane Austen journal!
Journaling and Scrapbook Stickers
Cute paper clips, binder clips, clothes pins, and bulldog clips
Wax seals (if anyone would ever like to swap message me!)
Used or unused postage stamps
Not solid colored mini envelopes!
I absolutely love receiving address labels so helpful!
Im not very picky so I'm happy with anything but a few things I do tend to dislike are; Orange, Reward stickers, and political items. I also am not a fan of cards with sentiments on the inside. I prefer blank.
Im a tv show addict. I have seen hundreds and if I really enjoy the show Ill re watch it over and over again while crafting. Some of the shows Ive loved in the past are:
The Walking Dead
Anime (demon slayer, fairytale, attack on titan, ourans host club, haikuu!, and a lot of others!)
Once Upon a Time
The Magicians ( current obsession)
Game of Thrones
and hundreds of others. I do like some movies specifically ones that are made based on books such as Divergent, Harry Potter, City of Bones, and Maze Runner. I am also a fan of Studio Ghibli
Some themes I love are:
Vintage ephemera (envelopes, old letters, vintage postcards, vintage cards, library cards)
pastel nursery style vintage ephemera
Alice in Wonderland
Peter Pan ( currently working on a junk journal so, greatly appreciated!)
Winnie the Pooh
Pastel! (Especially pastel fairytale)
Holiday unused postcards
Tea themed items
A few more of my passions are: Chinese food, Kpop (BTS, Got7) , Classic Rock, 21 pilots, Ya book series, Traveling, Bullet Journalling, and Writing.
I Love to collect postcards! I collect all sorts and am fine with whatever you would like to send. I love and prefer collecting blank Postcards unstamped in envelopes but also love reading postcard with messages!
Postcard wishlist: Deer, Elephant, holiday, Coffee, postcards from movies, tv shows, anime, specific books.
For kawaii swaps, Im not too picky and will like anything I receive. The type I love to receive are stationary sets, mini stationary sets, sticker flakes, washi tape, and mini paper envelopes or ziplock Baggies. My favorite brands to collect are Sanrio and San-x. My favorite characters are tarepanda, sentimental circus, and tuxedo Sam. If anyone happens to have the rilakkuma or sentimental circus collection with fairytales such as Alice in wonderland, little red riding hood, or Cinderella. My #1 favorite that I’m always on the search for is sentimental circus sailor!
2023: Unfortunately, I have a few medical issues that have led to a couple hospital stays and physically not being able to access my supplies or mailbox. I am very regretful that this has ever happened. During these periods I do still try to get as much done as I can. Usually, however, the only thing I can do is have friends or family members mail swaps for me. I promise i would never forget to complete a swap. Nor would I ever flake. When I sign up for a swap I absolutely will send and keep sending until a mail from me is received.
I am accepting of my rating. While I very much hope that some of the bad ratings will be able to be rectified, I know that most were in fact late and there is nothing I can do to change that. I am glad I am still able to join and have fun in swaps regardless. I believe the fact that my rating is 4.98 despite such ratings goes to show that I am in fact a dedicated swapper.
2019: I absolutely love swapping and did so vigorously for many months. Unfortunately, completely out of the blue my mental and physical health took a decline in March 2019. I was so unprepared- I had half finished swaps and recently purchased supplies for st patricks day themed mail! Unfortunately, treatment and my health lead to me dropping out of school and not being able to continue any of my normal activities- including swap-bot. I'm thankful to be back and be able to swap again and am so thankful to the people who helped make it possible to return to swapping!
I love swapping and believe it should be fun and not stressful. I am of the opinion that mail issues nor personal issues ( health, family, ect) should be held against someone. Especially when people often work very hard to have a good rating. Life happens and we shouldn’t hold that against people. This is supposed to be enjoyable and because we want to share art and supplies. Not so that we can get a report card. I, personally, hardly ever rate down and give swaps ample time to arrive before messaging my partner. I do not care how long it takes for a mail to reach me. So, take your time if need be.
I have seen profiles lately that consist of people’s shopping lists rather than anything craft, supplies or mail related. Im not here to pay for your household essentials or textbooks. It frustrates me to see profiles that only want money, gift cards or for me to pay for random things they need that aren’t related to any type of swap hosted. Having to send such items just to get a good rating is unfair.
Recently there has been issues with a swap in which I sent a vintage card that had some writing on it. The host sent me a message that was rude, dismissive, and demeaning. I had not been contacted at all prior to this but if I had I would have sent out a new card immediately. It was never my intention to send something that my partner did not like. The host proceeded to email every one of my 10 swap partners 2x to apologize and harshly say that I should not have been included. Multiple partners have already reached out to say my swap was very nice. I will be sending out 10 more cards as she did not even tell me who it was who had been unsatisfied.
