Description:

Welcome to the first international very easy swap. I have designed these swaps for those on a tight budget and newbies looking to help their ratings. These swaps are affordable and easy.

This month will be a soap swap. You will have one partner and will send your partner a lovely bar of soap! Let's see what suddy goodies you can find! Swap is SENDERS CHOICE but do have a peep at profiles for allergies.

Minimum spend will be $2. DUE TO POPULAR DEMAND weight of soap is now 75g in total. Angelling is avaliable. Please allow two weeks from closing date for international post. Swap bot picks partners at random so please only sign up if you are willing to post anywhere. If you have any probs sending, please contact your partners before the send date.

Anyone with unexplained 1s will be banned . I reserve the right to bar people who come across as suspect. ALL PROFILES WILL BE CHECKED BEFORE ASSIGNMENT. Newbies are welcome.

Flakers will be named and shamed on the Swap bot flakers group.

****EDITED TO ADD THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION****

PLEASE STOP SENDING REQUESTS TO JOIN WHEN YOU HAVE MULTIPLE ONES. YOUR MESSAGES WILL BE IGNORED.

Recently I have been asked by well meaning users to allow them to swap despite multiple ones. You should not be joining new swaps until you have made up the old ones.

If your 1 was unfair, swap bot allows everyone the chance to respond to a rating so hosts can see if it's unfair. There, you can explain what happened and give your side and evidence. If you can't do that, how do you expect hosts to be able to assign you a willing partner?

Life is unfair and we all suddenly find health problems or money problems bite us in the bum but honestly the best way to show you are trustworthy is focus on making up the past.

If you ever receive a totally unfair rating, contact Rachel as she may be able to change it if you can prove it's wrongfully given.

Don't take is personally but other swappers must be protected.

As a newbie, this would help me much more if I could do it now! ; ) But still... watching : )

Handmade and beatufully wrapped soap bar will be ok? Or only store-bought soap for this swap?

WystericalViolets 11/ 2/2011 #

Handmade is fine x

heynizajude 11/ 3/2011 #

Thanks so much for giving swap opportunities to newbies! (:

Meshabelle 12/ 2/2011 #

Is there a possibility of getting an overseas partner and having to pay a mint to ship to them?

pahasiga 12/ 2/2011 #

Obviously, as it is an international swap, you should assume you will need to send overseas. But you will yourself know better than anybody else how much will you have to spend.

kittenred 12/ 3/2011 #

If you are sending a smaller bar, the weight will be lower so It won't cost as much. I recommend wrapping the bar of soap into a second layer of cling film (so that's cling film on top of the wrapping it came in) then placing into a small bubble wrapped envelope, this is so it won't get squashed / melted if it's going some where hot.

If you are sending to an Australian swapper, make sure there are no dried flowers in the bar as it would get taken by customs. (they have rules about plant materials)

Good places in the UK to buy your soap from would be The Body Shop, Lush, TK Maxx (they do some in fancy wrappings) and for US swappers, Bath and Body works. (Don't know for other countries)

<<~~newbie in usa, can i take part in this?

Itti 12/ 6/2011 #

@kittenred - Swap conditions are that it's at least 100g though, so it probably will be expensive to ship.

Jessicapeterson66 12/ 6/2011 #

newbie in canada really excited to take part in this swap =)

jenthewen 12/ 9/2011 #

Can mini soaps be sent (as long they add up to 100g)?

Elin 12/ 9/2011 #

" You will have one partner and will send your partner a lovely bar of soap!... Minimum weight of soap should be 100g."

(My emphasis). A lovley bar, is to me one bar.

pointypartyhat 12/11/2011 #

Bath and Body Works doesn't really have bars of soap, the emphasis is mostly in liquids. They do have them from time to time but the selection is limited.

ColeCreations 12/12/2011 #

Just an FYI: 100 g = 3.52739 oz In the US that will cost about $2.00 to ship within the US if placed in a bubble mailer.

i am a newbie and so excited about this being my first swap

earthnk 12/13/2011 #

I'm available to mentor a newbie or with an oldster for a soap swap. Contact me if you are interested. The shops in my "hood" are L'Occitane, Lush, William Sonoma, CrabTree & Evelyn, Bath & Bodyworks and Farmers Markets to name a few. Plus I also make soaps and toiletries :-)Stateside or Int'l ---it's all good :-) Hit me up.

sweetcandylove 12/13/2011 #

i love soaps! we have a lot of local organic soaps available in the market. i'm super excited for this one. :)

WystericalViolets 12/15/2011 #

Wow, I pop back and find this is the swap to be at!

100g is about the normal for a decent size of soap. For those with concerns I will drop the minimum weight to 75g. That is still a decent size but will cost a wee bit less to post. To answer the question about multiple mini soaps, if it add up to the minimum value and weight, you can get away with that!

hollycopter 12/16/2011 #

I can't speak for others, but I would be quite disappointed with a generic brand soap bar (Dove, Dial, etc.). Just to clarify, a lovely bar would be lovely :) They don't have to be really expensive to be nice too! If you live in the US and have one near you, World Market has a lovely selection of imported soaps for under $5. Health food stores like Central Market or Whole Foods also have nice selections of beautiful soaps!

Just to get an idea of what types of soaps everyone likes, maybe we can comment on our favorite scent, brand, formula, homemade or store bought? comment here if you want.

Moochew12 12/19/2011 #

I would prefer anything homemade to store-bought. With a lovely smell and no milk products in it please.

Oooo yum! A fantastic soap swap! I love soaps(& all bathing products..bubbles,bath bombs, oils etc) so I have a perfect bar of soap I'll send in my swap.

It's very unique, and an original,a one of a kind as I bought it at the Bega Cheese Factory(far south coast NSW Australia) in their community craft shop. It's a handmade soap(safe 'everything') with a pretty painted scene on the front of the Bega area,Made in Australia stamped on the back. Comparing to my other soaps, the weight would be at least 75g but I'm pretty sure it's 100g. Great swap! Thanks! Excited to see what ends up in my letter box too:0)

Clearbrite 12/27/2011 #

Australia also has The Body Shop and Lush,so even though I adore all their 'things' too, perhaps try to send something that we can't easily get here. Just saying. Anything would be great really!:0)

DonnaLeeDesigns 12/29/2011 #

The Bulk Stores in Canada have a nice selection of herbal, goats milk and scented soaps for about $2.00.

map91 12/30/2011 #

loves2swap 01/ 1/2012 #

I love soaps with lavendar & chamomile, shea butter and homemade soaps.

LavenderSprinkles 01/ 2/2012 #

I like handmade soap also. I prefer milk based, shea butter, or herbal. Nothing too strong or with coconut thank you.

mapps 01/ 2/2012 #

I especially love handmade soap,or naturally scented soaps (olive oil, herbal, etc.)

vixen 01/ 2/2012 #

I just ask for NO lilac scents (on my profile also) I'm allergic..I don't like goats milk soap, and no strong scents like pine etc..Love homemade soap. Hope not too any restrictions..PM me if need help, but I think it's clear enough on my profile.

Purgatori84 01/ 3/2012 #
