Description:

Wait, wait...At least read the description before you brush off this swap as a snoozer! I promise there won't be much homework or any pop quizzes!

This is a two part swap that I ran last summer and it was lots of fun!

Part One: You will send an envelope of assorted collage goodies to your partner. Minimum envelope size of 6X9 inches. I'm not going to place rules as to exactly how much, but we are all like-minded collagists so you should send things that you would like to receive.

Part Two: Once you receive your package of collage goodies, you will have 2 weeks to send your supplier a collaged postcard in return using at least something from the supplies you received.

Bonus: You may mention one or two things that you've been looking for in the thread below. Check the thread once partners are assigned and if you have any of the things your partner mentions, I'm sure they would be eternally grateful if you included them in your package. This is not a "buying" swap though, more of a stash-sharing, so there isn't a guarantee that you will receive the special request items.

Cliff Notes:

Check the swap thread to see if you have a special item your partner is looking for.

One envelope of collage supplies (min 6X9 inches) to one partner.

Create and send a "thank you" collage postcard naked in the mail to your supplier.

Well, I'll go first. I love foreign language newspapers, yellow pages with listings like pet stores or bakeries, used postage stamps, vintage paper of any kind, music and images from Dover books or Craphound.

Hmmmm....Well, I'm into vintage Anything, the quirkier the better. And I'm always on the lookout for chunky bits, chipboard swirls & flourishes. A few people have sent me stamped images--loved getting those. Alphabet stickers make my heart beat faster Every time!

I like cats, non US postage stamps, packaging in languages besides English, bright colors, wallpaper, reused materials, mountains, water, painted papers, roses, eyes, ... That's sounds like a good list. I'm open to whatever treasures that you care enough about to share.

I love goats, ballet, birds, butterflies, flowers, vintage botanical, vintage children's poem/story images, (vintage anything really), Asian, castle, doors, arches, ladies painted by Dante Rossetti. . .

SherriB 01/17/2012 #

Oooh, I really like pretty papers, too. . .

The funkier the better ... very true!

I am all about recycling ... no not for the environment necessarily ... it just makes neater more original things!

I agree!! I love those bits of everyday life that would normally be thrown out. I've even been know to swipe the dry cleaner tags off clothes at the thrift store....:P

FarStarr, what a great idea (rubbing hands together mischievously!) Love weird things... PS the size tags on shoes from Target have a cool font--if you color them with linen or tea colored stamp pads, they look amazingly vintage!

cats, free art cards, bookmarks, anything relating to vintage fashion or sewing such as button cards, patterns, ads from old fashion mags, old Dennison brand sticker books, old Easter seals or Christmas seals ( I have some from 1960's, lol) playing cards with interesting designs, old greeting cards, the weird stuff you find at church sales... open to all kinds of paper scraps, leftover sticker sheets, anything with interesting graphics/lettering, using upcycled materials. Or hey, just surprise me if this list is too off the wall, lol.
