Regardless of what your craft is, sometimes it's nice to have a bit of background noise.

In this swap, you will create a mix CD for your partner that can be listened to while he or she is working on crafts and projects.

The guidelines are as follows:

  • The CD should contain a minimum of 15 songs.

  • You should attempt to include a variety of artists.

  • You must include a track listing.

  • You should attempt to cater to your partner's musical preferences. Therefore, after signing up please leave a comment below that offers some ideas for music you tend to prefer to listen to while crafting (i.e. list a few artists, songs, or song titles for guidelines) so that your partner knows what direction to go in.

  • This swap is U.S. only, but if there is a demand, a comparable international swap may be created later.

  • You will have only one partner, and the deadline is far enough away so you have time to create a thoughtful CD for your partner (and maybe include some little extras for hearts).

To join this swap, you must have a rating of at least 4.5. Newbies with thoroughly completed profiles are welcome.

If your partner fails to comment with music guidelines for you, feel free to PM him/her.

i have a rather extensive list of bands on my profile.

mostly i listen to emo, screamo, hardcore, indie, new age, and some acoustic-type girl music that im not sure how to categorize.

im a big fan of acoustic in general and im in love with the 90s

dont feel you need to stick to my listed bands, chances are you wont have much of it im always open to new music

things to stay away from: rap, r&b, hiphop, country, blue grass, metal/death metal, pop, techno, top-40s type music, christian music

i am not easily offended, so "explicit content" isnt much of an issue for me

When crafting, I generally prefer artists like Feist, Regina Spektor, Cat Power, and Stars--fairly low-key but not overly mellow and with interesting lyrics. I prefer to avoid rap, hip hop, country, and anything that consists mostly of screaming. My profile can offer more guidance if needed!

I like women's voices mostly: folk, bluegrass, blues, jazz. I like music with a message or a story. I'm not very current in my taste, although I have two teenage daughters that have a lot of current music loaded onto our i-tunes. I DISLIKE like most rap, country, pop, techno and oldies.

i love listening to any of the bands on my profile, anything dancey and rock!

i'm not too picky but i'm not very interested in folk, female solo artists (like tori amos...etc) hardcore, most pop or country.

i'm pretty willing to give anything a listen, but to get a better idea just check out the stuff on my profile :)

My profile gives more in depth 'Musical Taste' on me. I have a definite taste in music and I'm sometimes picky lol.

I LOVE: Indie, Indie Pop, Indie Twee Pop, New Rivival Garage Bands, Alt-Country, and Lo-Fi. I'm 'okay with Emo' but I don't totally love it. My favorite bands are Of Montreal, Sloan, The Strokes, and Bishop Allen.

I DON'T LIKE: Rap, Country, Oldies, Techno/Dance Music, Grunge, Metal, Top 40 Radio, Dave Matthew (he's gross), and Ska.

I love discovering new music. I love alternative folk/rock. I enjoy some hip-hop and jazz stuff. I'm really enjoying the acoustic radio station on my new satellite radio. What I don't like is country, techno, top 40 pop music.
