I'm not sure if anyone will join this but I figured it's worth a shot. No pun intended.

Some people will be protesting at Starbucks on Valentine's Day because Starbucks supports the 2nd Amendment. So this swap has a little twist.....This is for those who DO support the 2nd Amendment and will be buying something at Starbucks on Tuesday Feb 14th to show that support. You will have one partner and you will send them an email describing your experience going to Starbucks that day. Tell things like how big of a crowd of protesters were there, if any? Did someone confront you or ask you a question? If so how did you answer them? What did you buy? Did you wear something specific to show your support like a t-shirt or carrying a firearm? Etc.

Hopefully there are others on here that support the 2nd Amendment as I do and will join my swap. Happy Swapping!

I know I can't join this but can someone explain this to me. What's the 2nd amendment and what does it have to do with Starbucks? (I'm in UK but like to know things about the world :))

The second amendment gives a person the right to bear arms outside of the military, and to use them for lawful purposes in the home, etc., such as self-defense. Unfortunately that means pretty much anyone, except a convicted felon (I think), can buy and use a gun in this country. There are some pretty insane people out there. But as a veteran I support the Constitution as a WHOLE, and I support my government. And while I do not support the upcoming protest, I do support the right of the people to protest.

Not to get political here and this is coming from someone that was very against the general population possessing guns but if you make it so that people can't own guns then the wrong/bad people will get them in the black market and then people who want them for protection won't be able to legally protect themselves.

Guns scare me to be honest and my husband is in the military lol

I will be at Starbucks - front and center. I dont have a carry permit, nor do I feel the need to, but I will go out of my way to get my coffee there before work. I own a handgun ( and rifles & shotguns) and its loaded and near my bed. I hope never to use it, although I have drawn it in self defense. If you outlaw guns - only outlaws will have them. A Trained person is safe with a gun and has every right to defend themselves. I do advocate for lessons for 1st time hand gun ownership - for safety's sake.

Thank you for doing this and stepping outside the swap-box!

swaptivism is cool. I have the day off work Valentines Day so there's pretty much no chance I'll be passing through Starbucks that day-- unless it's just to speak with protesters and hear their views. Gun control is something I can really see both sides of-- though I'm with somebody who is pro- gun rights all the way.

Thanks everyone for your comments. @egalite I agree that swapitivism is cool. @mremptypants it is good for me to have stepped out of the box. :)
