Is your best friend also one of the best moms you know? Then this is your chance to show her that, in time for Mother's Day! Let's leave comments on the personality, likes/dislikes for your best friend (can be a sister, your mom, aunt, whomever) and suggestions for a really lovely, fun Mom's Day surprise! You can pamper her, make her smile, reward her with a special gift or all of the above. Handmade is always great! I love doing swaps for others, and I know you will too! Please have a rating of at least 4.5 and absolutely no "no sends." I will consider new swap-bot members if you contact me ahead of time. I won't put a spending limit on this, but let's aim for a package you would love to receive yourself! Mom's Day in the US is May 11. International swappers are welcome as long as package can arrive by May 10.

My best friend Melissa is mom to two boys (ages 8 and 3). She was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in September of this year and has been fighting ever since then to get well. Unfortunately her most recent blood tests have been "bad" so I would love to make this mother's day special one for her as she has mentioned she's afraid it will be her last.

Melissa likes painting, homemade goodies, and things to pamper herself with. Please no hair products as she doesn't have any right now, and no chocolate as it makes her ill.

Oh, thatsghetto, I'm sorry to hear the bad news about your best friends blood tests. I'm saying a prayer for her. Blessings, Celestial Freak

I have a WONDERFUL best-friend! For years I never really felt like I had any close relationships with anyone but my husband. I felt pretty isolated, I kept praying that someday I'd meet a friend who was so much like me that we could have a special sisterly connection. I prayed this for years. Over my years of praying my husband and I lead a very transient life. Neither of us had lasting jobs and we realised that if we were going to make it we had to move to an area that would easily be able to find a job at least for my husband. We eneded up moving on faith to Washington state. As we've planted our roots here, He's been blessed with a job that meets our needs and that he feels respected at and enjoys. I am so tempted to join this swap for my husband... but this is for my other best friend, and the swap is for the mama best friends.

I almost skipped this swap... I've been married for almost 8 years and we still don't have children. It's a sore subject for me. I tend to curl up in a ball and ignore the world on mothers day. I don't have the best relationship with my own mom, and the fact that I've suffered so many years without being able to grow our family has been such a struggle. But, seeing best friends at the start of the name of this swap caught my eye.

Recently I saw a package she received from a blog hosted swap. It was amazing, and it made me feel small for only planning to make her a button fairy for Valentine's day. It seemed like fate that I'd then find this swap, so I really hope to be able to honor her in this swap.

Mica and I met at church. We're a couple of odd-balls, and I wouldn't have it any other way. She is an amazing mom, and I just hope that if I am blessed to be a mom someday that I can raise children like she has. She has such a sweet and sensitive daughter, and a smart and introspective son. Her children amaze me, and I know so much of it has to do with her, and the wonderful influence she has on them.

I've struggled so long with a need to have a friend that can be sensitive about my infertility. She so gets that. I love her so much for her understanding. Having the two children she does wasn't an easy journey for her. She's become such a source of hope for me. She has her children see me as auntie and that is such a sweet honor.

Mica is a wonderful doll-maker, and crafter-extrodinare! She loves sweet romantic stories full of chivalry and innocent love. She's really drawn to the Victorian era.

She's a future pastor's wife, as her husband is in seminary studying right now.

Her son is 13 and her daughter is 7. She home-schools them and their appreciation of her as not just mom but also teacher really shines.

She loves sweets, especially chocolate. I lovingly rib her about her detest of veggies.

For more about my dear sweet friend Mica you can visit her swap-bot profile, and for there her websites and blogs.

I really hope that this swap will make her feel like the special friend she is.

Hi Gals!

Oh, I am thrilled to have already received some response to my new swap! My best friend (so you know!) is Patti, who I have known since I was 14, we will be 41 this year. She is the strongest, strong-willed and logical, empathetic and best friend I could have ever hoped for. She has helped me get through the past two years (and longer than that) struggling with severe depression and divorce. She refused to allow me to give in to the disease, and I survived because of her unconditional love for me. Though she has not always agreed with choices I have made, she stands by me for no other reason but that she loves me, and I can count those kinds of people in my life on less than one hand. She is a GREAT mom to three wonderful kids, 2 girls, 13 and 6 and a boy, 10. Her life revolves around them, and she never ever complains. I thought of a way to honor my best friend, like a recent "sister" swap I participated in, and thought Mother's Day would be a great way to do it. Thanks for joining, and I hope for some really wonderful experiences for all of you.

And that is MY book!

My BFF is Amy. We met on our first day of work at a campus job when we were in college. We instantly became best friends. I went with her to buy a wedding ring for her future husband when they decided to elope on his weekend pass from the air force. She let me stay with her when my apartment was broken into and I was afraid to go home. We only had 9 months living in the same city before she moved to join her husband. But we've stayed incredibly close over the years and the miles.

Amy just had her second baby in January, a daughter. Her son, who is 18 months, is my godson. The baby has been having difficulties feeding, Amy is exhausted, her husband is exhausted and back to work full-time, and my godson is just plain confused by all the changes in the house. Typical new baby stuff, I think.

The hard part, though, is that Amy's mom was diagnosed with breast cancer during Amy's pregnancy. So, every morning, Amy gets her hubby out the door to work, the boy off to day care, unsuccessfully tries to feed the baby, and then has to go drive her mom to chemotherapy. And she still finds time to check in with me and see how I'm doing!

By the time this swap rolls around, Amy will have had to go back to work full time. I'm sure she'd love any little things that will help her manage that transition, release a little stress, etc.

Just thought I'd mention, for when partners are assigned, you can send to Mica c/o my address and I'll give her the package. We see each-other every Sunday, and I'd love to be there with her as she opens her package.

I'm guessing others will rather that their package be sent straight to their BFF just to save some on shipping (for those who are not near their friends.)

Well, my mum is my best friend. She is always there for me. She has stood beside me knowing what I was doing wasn't right, but she held my hand through it all, b/c I'm stubborn! Had to do it my way. She means so much to me. She has been going through a lot lately, and I saw this and thought what perfect timing! She is the one who got me to give swap-bot a try, and now I'm addicted!lol! Here is her profile: DarkSkullMistress42: http://www.swap-bot.com/member/?id=6101 (sorry haven't figured out on how to make it clickable!

If you have any questions feel free to pm me:) Thanks, Brittany

My best friend is Michele. She's a young mom of 3 kids. She's going to college to be a crime scene photographer, and working nights to help pay for school. She's constantly thinking of others and never putting her self first ( which she needs to do at least sometimes ). She has a girly skater style thats fizzled as the mom years and school has taken a tool on her. She's an awesome cook that sticks to soy/ organic stuff like that that I don't even know about. She all about natural non bio-hazard stuff thats good for the environment. She's always up to date on all the going ons of the world while I just know whats going on with my kids school and activities. She was there for me and my kids, through all the hard times. And she continues to be the best friend I have ever had.

I really don't want to drop this swap, but I think I have to. Couple reasons... I'll be out of town when it's supposed to arrive, and also money sucks these days. But this is a wonderful swap!
