Description:

I have quoted one of my country's greatest and best known exports and experts, the man himself Mr Will Shakespeare...but there's plenty more to it than that. Let's celebrate our love of theatre in all its forms with a showtime swap!

You will have one partner to send to and this is an international swap. Please send at least 3-5 items but you may send more - just make sure it is something your partner will love! You can send anything theatre/musicals related - some ideas are -

  • small posters or theatre artwork
  • theatre programmes
  • play scripts
  • DVD of a show/musical
  • CD soundtracks or mix CD of musical songs
  • letters or photos about your favourite shows or any productions you have been involved in
  • theatre related jewellery or accessories
  • theatre related clothes eg - t shirts, socks
  • masks or disguises eg hats or showy sunglasses
  • theatre related stationary, coin purses, pouches, badges, magnets, any other gear you can imagine

Anything you think your partner will enjoy, some items may be handmade if you are crafty and you want to do this! It would be nice to choose something relating to their favourite shows or musicals so your partner will really love it! For example if your partner really loved Moulin Rouge you could send false eyelashes or fishnet stockings! Or if they liked Midsummer Night's Dream, try making a fairy doll...use your imagination! :)

There is no strict spending limit but this is to be a nice quality swap so from about $10 or £5 please and depending on what you send it may be more.

Please list below if you have any particular favourite shows, or anything you would like or really wouldn't like to receive.

This swap is not open to newbies as it involves quite a bit of effort but there is still time to get a good rating before joining. Please have a filled out profile!

Other than that, enjoy and please put some time and effort into sending something your partner will really enjoy and appreciate.

I thought I'd start up the comments section to show you what I meant -

I love Moulin Rouge, Oliver!, Starlight Express, Mamma Mia, Red Demon, Watership Down, Shakespearean comedy (The Tempest, Twelfth Night, Midsummer Night's Dream),

Enjoy the swap!

Well, I thought I should not sign up for any new swap but theatre is such an important part of my life I just had to take part in this !

I wouldn't have any use for theatre programmes since I already have too many at home. Anything else is just fine. I read English, French, German and Italian so I can appreciate a play script in any of these languages.

And if I get a crafty partner who can make me a theatre-themed decorated matchbox or matchbox shrine, I'd be the happiest.

I would love a letter from my partner about their theatre experience. I'm with Nanamint though I have so many theater programs I don't need any more. A theatre matchbox sounds like it would be fun to make, I'll probably try that for my partner.

I had to join this one!I was a theatre major and worked in the theatre for some time. I currently review shows here in New York --so please no programs-- I have two overflowing boxes of them already! I also have a lot of musical cds as well--although if you have any recordings of Wicked, Avenue Q, Coram Boy, Les Miz, The Producers,or The Drowsy Chaperone then I would love to add those to my collection. Would most like something hand-made or general themed items--love anything with Shakespeare too. Would also be interested in any info related to local professioanl theatres in your area. Thanks!

I just realized I never posted what I'm interested in. Ack! The send date is a little more than a week away, so I'll understand if my partner doesn't have time to read this before she gathers everything. Please don't worry about it if that happens!

My theatre interest leans more toward plays than musicals. The musicals I do like are the more fun, lighthearted ones that don't take themselves too seriously. I'm definitely interested in receiving scripts, stuff with comedy and tragedy masks, letters about theatrical experiences, and stuff to do with Shakespeare, Tom Stoppard, Neil Simon, feminist plays (except the Vagina Monologues -- I'm just not a big fan for some reason), Italian plays/playwrights, and absurdist/postmodern plays and playwrights (Ionesco and Beckett, for example). I'm really looking forward to receiving most anything theatre-related, though, so use your imagination. :)

I have extended the deadline. I personally need more time and know some people are struggling, if you have already sent or ready to send I'm sorry but I don't want people to panic about the time because it is quite a tricky swap.

Anymore problems, I sent you all an email so you have my address or PM me, thanks :)

Thank you for extending the deadline !
