Description:

The science nerd and the spiritual being in me both love solstice ... The sun! Pauses! But not really! Because it's an illusion! The earth! Is tilted as it circles the sun! Like some kind of little marble in the vast Universe! How about you?

Let's send each other something creative and a little note about what we feel about and do to honor the darkest (and for those who are in the Southern Hemisphere, LIGHTEST) moments of the year.

"Creative" can mean mail art, a handmade postcard, an ATC, a recipe on a hand-decorated card. If you are stumped, how about trying your hand at calligraphy, or taking a picture of a black cat with a little "sun" on its chest, or ...I have faith that you will come up with something good, because YOU are creative!

Don't forget to include a note about what you think about and how you "mark" the seasonal change in daylight and darkness in your life -- do you get up early? Do you light a bonfire? Do you get out a flashlight and an orange and show your kids how the solar year works? Do you bake dark chocolate cookies with a small sunny candy in the center (like my family sometimes does)? What are your hopes for this new Solar season? Do you welcome the change, or do you cherish the additional nighttime (or daytime) hours?

Let's get this in the mail 2 1/2 weeks before solstice, so we can be sure that our partner receives our greetings, thoughts, and creativity in time to mark the solstice!

Please be committed to this swap, have a few swaps under your belt, and have a great rating or explain your "1"s or "3"s to me in a PM. I would be happy to "angel", but it might be a little frustrating if solstice is already long past.

What a lovely group we are! Anybody else? I can't wait to get weaving darkness and light and see what we creative folks come up with ...

Lady and ARTG33K74, you are the pace-setters! I am having to do MATH for my swap and it is too much fun to play around with. I haven't played with math in WAY too long. Hope my partner likes it!
