Description:

There isn't enough knitting and yarn related mail art out there, so let's create some! Create a piece of mail art with knitting or yarn imagery.

You will have 2 partners. 1 envelope to 2 different people, so you will receive 2 back.

The envelopes themselves are created/decorated and sent in the mail. You can use papers, mixed media, paint, stencils, etc. Digital art is also welcome. Use images, stamped or cut-aways but make sure everything is glued down and dry before sending, so the envelope makes it's destination. Ensure the mailing address can be clearly read. Your envelope should be sent naked thru the mail, not inside a plain envelope.

To include inside: a purchased or handmade card.

I've heard, size DOES matter! Small envelopes get lost or waylaid, so please be sure to make the envelope as large as you can without incurring additional postage issues.

Make sure you include your swap details inside the card.

This swap is for a 4.8 rating or higher.

I would love to join, but the measurements are so odd, that postage would be rediculous. Standard or even Kompakt letters maximum sizes are 12,5cm x 23,5cm.

I borrowed those mesurements from another mail art swap - I will edit to not be specific to that size, but just not a small envelope.

USPS counts this within the standard size which if an ounce or less should be the normal $1.05 to ship internationally.

Here is Canada we can request "Manual cancellation please" and the postal clerk covers the piece of mail with a special form so that your envelope/postcard/mail art is hand-cancelled and doesn't get ground up in the machine process! It's fabulous! i have wonderful postal trollettes!
