Description:

This swap is for those of us that are interested in where we came from.

For this swap you will research a little bit about your family history. You do not have to go back very far, even your great grandparents would be fine. You can pick your maternal side, paternal side, or both, whichever you prefer. Where did they come from? Are there any interesting stories in your family? Are there any family mysteries?

Write or type your partner a letter documenting some of your findings and stories and mail it to them. Make it at least a page or two long because some people will put a lot of time and effort into this swap. For hearts, share old pictures of your family, a copy of your family tree, and/or scans of old documents and letters you have found that belong to them, etc.

This is an international swap because postage will not be high, and I think it will be interesting. Anyone is welcome, but I will be banning anyone that seems questionable. This is my first swap, so if I am missing any information please let me know. Otherwise, please enjoy the swap!

This is a wonderful idea, but I have a question--I made a Powerpoint presentation about my family history for a college course--could I send that as well? blessings, Gypsy

cobaltgypsy, I hope I am your swap partner! It would be awesome to receive a powerpoint presentation about your family! I would guess that as long as you include the letter, the presentation would be good for a heart. Personally, i think it isa great idea - I had not thought to make one, but as I am doing research on my family and am considering planning a reunion, a powerpoint show running on a laptop would be a great addition to the party. Thanks for sharing your idea!

sorry i did not realize there was a comment on this :) i think it would be fine to send a powerpoint if your partner says it is okay. i would not mind, but i would check with your partner first just to be sure!
