I just found out that my friend Kari has been reported missing. Please help if you can.
Missing Woman
Carbondale (Illinois) Police need your help locating a woman who’s been missing for over a month. The department is investigating a missing persons report on 40-year-old Kari Staros, of Carbondale.
Staros is a white female, 5’4”, 160 pounds with brown hair and green eyes. She was last seen on July 4th in Murphysboro (Illinois) and may be driving a green 2008 Hyundai Sonata 4-door with Illinois registration X729964.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts should contact the Carbondale police department at (618) 457-3200.
UPDATE AUGUST 29 My mom was in a car accident yesterday that totalled her blazer. As of last night, she said she felt fine, but she's had 3 back surgeries and it's possible that pain will show up later. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you.
UPDATE AUGUST 26 The pipes are finished and working very nicely! The plumbers stayed until after 11:00 pm to insure that we had running water for today. The roof still hasn't even been looked at. I could really use a stress reliever...
UPDATE AUGUST 25 It looks like the plumbers will be finished restoring new pipes sometime this week, as long as it doesn't rain anymore. The landlord is sending someone over tomorrow morning to put tarp on the roof, but will not be able to fix it until next week. Unfortunately, 4 other houses/apartments that my landlord owns had their roofs collapse prior to mine, so they are first in line.
Update August 23 The good news is, we are finally moved into our new house, about half unpacked, the kids have started school and the house is ALMOST perfect.
The bad news is: We discovered that the closet in the sunroom was completely full of mold (so bad in fact, I broke out in hives and couldn't breathe when I opened the door to put away things in the closet---I'm EXTREMELY allergic to mold, so is Luther) and the ceiling was caving in. The good news is that the leak was repaired before we moved in, but the "cleaning" crew neglected to clean it and our landlord neglected to tell us it was in that condition before we moved in. (yes, I gave him an earfull about how allergic Luther and I are!)
Some More bad news: 3 days after moving in, while trying to do a load of laundry, the 1/2 bath toilet began bubbling up and flooded the half bathroom and the laundry room. As it turns out, our house, which was built in 1956, still has it's original cast iron plumbing and it picked just then to completely collapse. All of the pipes from the center of the house (meaning kitchen, half bath and laundry room) have to be replaced. The good news is that we can still use the full bath, which means I've been washing my dishes in plastic tubs filled with water from the bathroom. The plumbers have managed to remove all the pipes, and have begun pumping out the flooded water under the house as we just had a major rain storm yesterday.
And even more bad news: during the rain storm, our sunroom roof began pouring, not just leaking, but actually POURING water into our sunroom. I got Paul's computer out of the way just in time. We tried for hours to get in touch with the landlord, finally got in touch with his workman instead, who came and looked (and helped me move Paul's computer because he was at work at the time) and called the landlord to explain that no, it wasn't just dripping, it was indeed POURING into our house and the newly installed carpet. The workman helped me lay plastic on the carpet and left. Paul then came home when I called and explained that yet another spot in the ceiling had begun to bow as well and looked to be ready to pour. Paul bought plastic on his way home, and spent the next 45 minutes in the lightning and thunder on the roof trying to staple down some plastic. Called landlord's office (got machine) AGAIN to tell them what Paul did. No answer/return call. (this was yesterday) Paul stopped by the office on his way to work, and they told him to take the cost of the plastic off our rent payment and they'd send a workman out to put thicker tarp on the roof. Yeah, well, they never showed. The good news is: it's not raining today, but there's a chance it will tomorrow. It's unlikely we'll see anyone before Monday afternoon, since the office hours are (must be nice) from noon until 4:00.
NOTE TO SELF: Send NanaDeb some UK and German chocolate once the weather cools down
AFTER READING ANOTHER PROFILE I realized I should probably first say that I am a NON-SMOKER. My daughter is extremely allergic to cigarette smoke, so please keep this in mind if sending me items that hold the odor. Thanks for being so considerate!!
Some have asked about sending stress relievers
Right now, my stress relievers are the following:
chocolate (too hot to mail)
lavender essential oil
lemon essential oil
ylang ylang essential oil
cherry blossom oil
cherry tea
mint tea
green tea
blackberry tea
please no chamomile--I'm allergic!
Stevie Nicks, Chris Williamson, The Sugar Cubes, Led Zeppelin, Lez Zeppelin, the Ramones, the Cure, Dixie Chicks, Harry Connick Jr., Rachel Sage, India Arie, Evanessence, the White Stripes, Tokio Hotel, Kraftwerk, Lisa Loeb, the Doors, Jimi Hendrix, the Beatles, okay, really I like pretty much anything EXCEPT twangy country, violent rap, and stuff like Gwar.
When in doubt, PLEASE JUST ASK ME!

I have a 14 year old daughter and a 16 and a half year old son. My daughter just started high school this year, and my son just started driving. And Miss Clairol is my new best friend!
I'm married for a second time. I'm married to my opposite, but you know what they say, opposites attract! We've been married for 8 years, but have been together for 10. We were married on Beltane Eve (April 30th) in our back yard with friends and family.
I am an ordained Wiccan minister and have been a happily practicing pagan for the last 28 of my 40 years. I won't preach to you if you don't preach to me.
I believe that we are all connected somehow and we should at least respect one another, if not love one another.
I love nature and all it's wonders. The Goddess has a fabulous creative mind.
I have 5 cats, 1 dog, 1 hamster, 1 turtle and a 35 gallon aquarium full of fish. (and yes, everything has a name--some even have two!)
I collect small toys and trinkets, as well as Japanese items (bentos, toys, etc.), and cute witches, like the vintage bombshell ones that you see in advertising. I don't like the ugly, scary green hag witches though. They scare me.
My favourite colours are cobalt blue and lemon yellow. I also like earth tones very much so. And black.
I collect teapots and tea. I share the tea with friends and family while using the teapots.
I do not like the colours pink, purple or chartruese!
I like to consider myself pretty organized. (My husband calls it OCD. LOL!)
I am a big fat FEMINIST.
If I feel you are wrongly accused, I'll go to the wall for you. If I feel I am wrongly accused, I'll argue til the death.
KAWAII
I like just about everything EXCEPT Disney, Diddl, Gloomy Bear, Hello Kitty. I collect Chococat, Tenorikuma, Rillakkuma, Nyan Nyanko, Pucca, Cinnamoroll, Keroppi and Kerori. When in doubt, please just ask!
I always rate as soon as I get something, unless I feel the person needs another opportunity to complete the swap--I know that sometimes people misread instructions, or get swaps confused. I am by no means perfect myself!
IF YOU HAVEN'T GOTTEN A RATING FROM ME, I MOST LIKELY HAVEN'T GOTTEN A PACKAGE FROM YOU YET. PLEASE CONTACT ME WITH QUESTIONS!!

I'm looking for new clientele.
