Description:

What is a zine??? A zine is a magazine/pamphlet/booklet that you make and publish yourself (usually photocopied). They can contain anything you like for example: Poetry, opinions, recipes, a comic, photographs, stories, reviews, sketches, personal experience, journal style. They can be completely written, completely art or anywhere in between. Here is a link to instructions for creating an 8 page zine template from one piece of paper. Click here and Go to this site and scroll down about half way.

SWAP GUIDELINES:

*To create your zine you may use any type of techniques. So sketch, collage, word processor, typewriter, handwritten, photos.... create it as you wish.

*Theme is Magazine theme. First pick a theme for your magazine(what types do you like to read?) and give it a name.

*Create a zine that has some of the things that a magazine may have like an article or two, advertisements, fashion, polls, recipes..... anything you wish. You could create a political magazine, a fashion magazine, a craft magazine or a food magazine. It's small so you don't have to fit much into it.

*The completed size must be no larger than quarter page (about 4.5 inches x 5.5 inches). Minimum 8 pages (including front and back covers).

*Make it, copy it, put it together and mail one copy each to your 4 partners.

Swappers must have a minimum rating of 4.95, no unexplained 1's or 3's.

I would join this if we could make it A4 and had one swap partner

@Cupcakelovesyou I think it is A4. I think @soyprincesa2 means each page is those dimensions. Otherwise it would be TOO small to fold, cut, assemble. Surely??? Although, then each page would be an eighth of a page, not a quarter? Hmmm... Now you've got me wondering what she means. :/

@Lizard and @Cupcakelovesyou Regarding size of zine Lizard has it right. You begin with an A4 paper and you can fold it down to 8 pages using the mini zine templates. To have a zine that is a little larger you can create a quarter sized zine by taking two A4 sized papers and cutting them down (after your zine has been designed) into 4 (quarter page sized) pages. This size works well for fitting more readable text if you want that for your magazine. This is the size that I plan to work with for my mini magazine. I hope this answers your question. You may go with the standard mini size or make it a little larger as I just explained.
