QnT Vintage Appliqué Mini Art Quilt Series #1

4-20-14 thru 5-20-14

Swap 1 appliqué a vintage ladies dress glove to your mini art quilt

Swap 2 appliqué a vintage doily to your mini art quilt

Swap 3 appliqué something vintage that has embroidery or is embroidered to your mini art quilt

Swap 4 appliqué a vintage handkerchief to your mini art quilt

Lets make some new mini art quilts each with a different vintage item appliquéd or sewn on it. You may appliqué or attach in any manor you want the items listed for each swap. You may also add any other embellishments you want to the mini art quilts in this series. Be creative and do your neatest work.

The first swap will be a Mini Art Quilt with a vintage ladies dress glove like some of us used to wear with our Easter Dresses. Create a mini art quilt and appliqué a vintage ladies glove to it using any other embellishments you want. Do your best work and be sure to put a label on the back stating your name, date and where you live. If you have titled your mini art quilt put the title on the label on the back as well. Do not use winter mittens or the gloves we wear for warmth, this vintage glove must be one that was a dress glove worn in days-gone-by! (Note most of them are white with a little lace or embroidery work and sometimes have a button or two but you can use any color vintage ladies dress glove) My daughter recently got a box of vintage cloves and there was a very pretty mint green pair in with a lot of white ones and one set of black gloves.

2: A Mini Art quilt with a vintage doily appliquéd or sewn on it

3: A Mini Art quilt with a piece of something that has vintage embroidery work on it, a dresser scarf, table cloth, pillow case (find something vintage that has embroidery work on it (hand or machine embroidery is fine) and use just that portion on your mini art quilt.

4: A Mini Art Quilt with a vintage handkerchief on it

I love Vintage and mini art quilts as well!

Enjoy and swap-on!

What size should the quilt be?

The size of the mini is up to the sender, but should probably be the usual mini art quilt sizes...at least 6 1/2 inches to probably 15 inches....and it doesn't have to be square. A little bigger is fine.

have fun!
