Newbie Tea and Craft Swap

Please READ all of the rules. This will help you have a successful swapping experience.

This is a swap for a hand crafted paper tea folder with a teabag inside it. The project should cost less than $2 and take maybe an hour of your time. You can decorate your tea folder with whatever art supplies you have. Draw on it, use rubber stamps, glitter, yarn, or stickers. Make something pretty.

There are three parts to this swap:

  1. Look at your partner's profile to find out what kind of tea they like. Make sure you have included this information on your own profile. Select a single factory sealed tea bag to send.

  2. Craft an attractive tea bag folder. Here are some examples for inspiration:

    -- example1

    -- example2

    -- example3

  3. Send the tea in its folder with a note to your partner. Please remember to sign and date your swap, and include the name of the swap.

You must have a perfect 5.0 rating for this swap. This is a newbie swap, so unrated swappers are allowed.

You must have a filled out profile, this means more than a paragraph or two. Tell us what you enjoy, help us get to know you. Anyone with a blank profile will not be allowed in the swap.

You must indicate your tea preference in your profile. If I cannot find it I will drop you without explanation.

I will angel unsent swaps, after the sender has been rated a 1. If you do not think you can follow through with this swap, please do not sign up.

If you have questions, please ask. I would rather have questions now than misunderstandings and hurt feelings later.

Wow I love the examples. I'm a little intimidated my them but it'll push me to make a great one for my swap partner. I look forward to this. My mind has so many ideas going on. I'm excited.

The person I sent to belittle my little tea card, called it "Sad and poor" and "cardboard". It was made using the first template with unbleached natural cardstock cut with a decorative edge on the front flap, had vellum on the pocket embossed with clocks, and I made a belly-band to keep it closed that was stamped with teacups and colored by hand. She was completely ungrateful and unappreciative of the work and thought that went into it and I am deeply hurt by her unkindness. I know, I should have a thicker skin, but it hurts when you put your time, effort, materials AND MONEY into project to have it scoffed at and called "sad and poor". She's still young and probably can't appreciate the little things in life and hasn't developed the tact to review with more kindness in her words. I hope she gets to feel the same hurt in the near future over something she has put energy into so that she can know what it feels like to had mean and hurtful words slung about over her work.
