Art Challenge - Week 1

Week 1 (1st Setember -> 7th September).

Week 2 (September 8th -> September 14th)

No more need for instagram or any other account!

Greetings all, this art challenge is for all skill levels. I am a newbie at drawing and in fact only bought my first ever pencils 3 weeks ago! (I'm 25). I have seen challenges like this in the past but none of my friends draw. I hope to do this art challenge weekly if everyone is up for it! You will not have to create a masterpiece each day. I for one will be working on drawing eyes, I want to do a simple sketch of an eye each day.

I have debated with using social media accounts like Instagram and the like to submit images however that would exclude many who do not want to use it. Instead we will be using an uploader on my site, I swear it is very easy, no account needed! Once the swap begins I will send an email to everyone with a link to the site and the password for the page. You just login, upload your pic with your username and poof it is up instantly. Click on any image in the gallery to see the username :)

There will be a public page so everyone can see the gallery. There will be the private page with the actual uploader which is protected so no odd pics end up there!

What Will you need?

  • A digital camera camera icon or scanner!
  • The link to the upload page which will be sent by email as soon as the challenge starts.
  • All mediums are accepted, drawing, watercolour, alcohol markers whatever you want to focus on give it a try.

The Challenge

  • Pick a subject matter (example: flower, leaf, eye, mouth etc)
  • Draw/Paint/smudge (?lol) it once a day for 7 days
  • Post the image to the website each and every day.
  • Include your username when uploading (Hah this is an unused tag yay!!)
    • Start posting September 1st. Though you are of course welcome to start posting before then ;)

what if i miss a day?

Don't give up if you miss a day! Keep working towards the end of the week. Hopefully you may find you get into the swing of it and sign up for the next week! Ratings should not be too harsh, if one day is missed it is not a huge thing. If however only one or two images are submitted then all bets are off.

can you join?

  • Open to all newbies :)
  • Any recent negative ratings may causes issue but that depends per person!
  • Must have a well filled out profile!!

what happens to my artwork?

It is uploaded to my site but one email to me and I swear to you it will be removed. I WILL NEVER EVER use your artwork except in the gallery on the site. If anyone has any worries please just send me a message :)

Hmm. I'd play, but I don't facebook or follow people, so that's kind of awkward. Perhaps upon finishing, participants could send an email with links or attachments of all their pictures?

Okies overhauled the idea. No more instagram, instead I found a way for people to upload images directly to a gallery on my site without having to sign up for an account! All you need is the password to the page and you can upload the image with the username :) Hah okay a lil proud here of that because I really wanted everyone to get the chance to be a part of this!

Im going to be completely honest, I havent had the time to do this swap :(

I started Nursing school this week and did not expect the load to be so much. I ended up in the hospital on Wed. because my bf thought i was having a heart attack (chest pain, trouble breathing, numbness in my arm and hand, dizziness) but the Dr. said it was most like just extreme stress manifesting like a heart attack bc my heart was perfectly fine.

I've already had 3 quizzes, 6 chapters of reading from the main textbook, 9 chapters from the Dosages book, and several practical skills check offs in the lab - and its only the first week!

Im finishing up my swaps and then im likely to be off of SB until the semester is over. :(

I will do the challenge this weekend and post the pictures to you, i knows its late but it is the best I can do right now. If i had know it was going to be this way I would never have signed up for the swap. I fully expect 3s for this, but there isnt anything else I can do about it.
