This is the USA only version (by request) I am hosting an international one you can join as well.

Update 9/27/15: These PLs do not have to have a lot of decorating to keep shipping costs down, but feel free to do as much as you like. Keep simple, thin (less than 1/4 inch per US Postal) and light. I've mailed a PL in the US using 1 regular stamp. For example, for one of my pockets I'll include a picture of my two dogs. Maybe add a sticker or write their names, but that's it. Thin, light, and still a fact about me.

I think this a unique swap to get to know others and maybe expand your pocket letter pal list. I may do more swaps like this depending on the feedback, which is always appreciated. So for this pocket letter swap you will be creating and telling 9 facts about yourself. Ok here's the details:

•Each pocket must be individually designed around a fact about you. So first I would sit down with a pen & paper and write a list of things about you. Some examples are: your favorite color, favorite hobby, favorite animal or pet, did you recently get married or have a baby, what state/country do you live in, do you live by anything interesting, your favorite drink, when is your birthday, favorite holiday, favorite season, favorite food, etc. Next you can break down each fact with ideas to create it. For example use any stickers of embellishments in your favorite color on one pocket, decorate a Starbucks drink sleeve for your favorite drink, cut a picture from a magazine or draw your favorite food, etc.

•Only the front of each pocket must be decorated and on the back you will write the fact about you that corresponds with the card front. For example: you would write "My favorite color is ___________." on the back of the card you decorated with your favorite color. All 9 pockets have to have a different fact.

•You must include at least a short note with the swap name & your username. You do not have to write a letter as the pockets are like your letter. However feel free to write one and as much as you like (include your address if you want to continue swapping/writing with your partner)

•No goodies are required for this swap, but it's always thoughtful ;)

•You will get TWO partners and this is a USA ONLY swap. These PLs should be relatively light and not costly. (Tip: you can make two of the exact same pocket letters about you to send as they will be going to two different places; so don't feel stressed about creating 18 different facts about you)

I will be checking profiles. Newbies are welcome with a filled out profile as this is a simple swap. However, no recent or unexplained 1s or 3s. Please let your partner know before rating 1 or 3 as a courtesy. All profiles must be filled out and I reserve the right to ban anyone from the swap that I do not feel is a good match.

Feel free to msg me or comment with any questions. Check out my profile for additional creative pocket letter swaps I may be hosting. Be really creative with this swap and most of all have fun. Happy Swapping! :)

Hi I love making these pocket letters and this one is a great idea I can't wait to get started on this. This is a great way to meet different people and become friends.

This is a USA swap, right? In the description, it says International.

SheWolf 09/17/2015 #

@MissBrenda Yes this is USA Only - I had copied and pasted from my international one and forgot to change that.

MissBrenda 09/17/2015 #

ok, I was just checking to be sure. Thanks for clarifying.

I think I'm Just going to make this to keep for me. Thanks for the idea

What an awesome idea for a swap. I have started working on mine. I didn't realize how hard it would be to narrow down my pocket ideas. At first, I thought I'd have a hard time coming up with 9 pocket ideas, but once I started, I realize I'm having a hard time selecting the 9 most important. Haha! Mine won't necessarily be the most important ones, though, as I am also working toward some color coordination and including a variety. Oh what fun!

I am curious what a pocket letter is

I really wish it was only one partner.

@katspremierbling you can look at my pl, just go to my link on my page. PL are 9 pocket trading card sleeves. Each pocket decorated and most have goodies in the back. Depends on swap. I use scrapbook paper for my pockets. Pocket siz3s are 2 1/2 X3 1/2.

@CarolWestcamp - I'm glad someone is as excited as I am. You don't have to worry about color coordination unless you want to. I wanted to leave this as open ended as possible for swappers.

@art3osb - Thank you for explaining to @Katspremierbling These PLs should be made relatively thin & light to keeps costs down. That's why I have 2 partners. I've made a PL that only used 1 regular stamp to mail in the US. For example, 1 pocket I am inserting a picture of my two dogs and that's it, maybe add a sticker or to on it. But simple, thin, light and it's a fact that I have two dogs.

I made both of my pocket letters already...I got excited. Can't wait to get my partners assigned

I actually wasn't concerned about shipping two. It was making two PL because just making one is hard to create but I thought it, went through my stash and came up with 9 facts about me. Each will be same facts but won't be exactly the same but a bit different since I didn't have 2 of each of some items. This will be fun.

You're welcome @shewolf Glad I could help.

When will partners be assigned?
