Description:

I love advent calendars! It is so fun to come home and have a little goodie to open everyday, makes the day complete. I played in many Advent swaps in the past and would love to continue but the cost of International postage makes it impossible for me to send packages...So let’s try the Pocket Letter version :) The original idea for this came from a public swap hosted by @SheWolf and she was gracious enough to let me borrow the idea. Thank you again!

Traditional Advent calendars are 24, sometimes 25 days, with a little gift everyday. Well, we only have 9 pockets and we need to keep the postage reasonable sooo...let’s do an Advent calendar with a pocket that will be opened on December 1st, 4th, 7th, 10th, 13th, 16th, 19th, 22nd, 25th! Short and sweet:)

The front of each pocket must be decorated in some sort of Christmas theme and every pocket should have a goodie tucked in the back. Please hide the goodies in mini envelopes, paper sacks, gift wrap or between two pieces of paper. Pockets must be numbered or dated, be creative!

Goodies can be any theme. Homemade, store bought, or shopped from your stash. PLEASE no used, abused, worn, torn, dirty, scraps, or unusable items. This is not profile based but try to keep everything clean, not overly religious, and legal. Any food items should be able to sit out until opened. See goodies list for ideas and even more ideas! Remember to keep these light and flat so that the postal Grinch doesn’t take all your holiday cash :o Postage for “packages” mailed internationally from the US can be very high.

Don’t forget to tuck the letter in somewhere, or maybe a holiday card and as always the swap name and your swap-bot name.

One last thing...when you rate an Advent swap is up to you, some people rate based on the creativity, some wait till they open all the goodies. I think a 5 with a comment of “I’ll be back after the holidays” when you receive this swap as a minimum would ease the minds of all involved! I will remind everyone to finalize their ratings after the first of the year.

I feel safe swapping in this group, however should the unthinkable occur I will angel after a one (1) rating is given. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to message me.

Don’t forget to tuck this swap away until December 1st, no peeking allowed, Santa is watching ;)

The photo is a work in progress!<<<

NOTE FOR USA SWAPPERS:

•If you can keep your pocket letter to under ¼” thick the cost to mail these internationally would be - 1 ounce or less $1.20, 1.1 - 2 ounces $2.06, 2.1 - 3 $2.92 ounces in a business size envelope.

•If you want to mail your pocket letter flat in a large envelope (most are “9 x 12“) and is under ¾” thick the cost to mail these internationally would be 1 ounce or less $2.38, 1.1 - 2 ounces $3.31, 2.1 - 3 $4.22 ounces.

•If you end up with a package be prepared... to mail these internationally would be 2 ounces or less $7.10, 2.1 - 3 ounces $9.90.

I suggest you take these to the human at the Post Office for correct postage.
