Description:

Do you have problems sticking to a budget? If so, this swap is for you!

For this swap, you will create a budget for the month of January. Then you'll try to stick to it.

Get a notebook (handmade or storebought) that you can use for the month. On the first page (or pages), write out your budget and anything else you think is important about your budget. You can explain it as much as you want for your partner, or simply put the budget and continue to the next step.

On the rest of the pages, you'll track your spending for the entire month of January. You can do this by posting in receipts (black out personal information), simply writing in what you spent and on what, or however you want to do it. If you don't spend anything that day, write something instead. Each day should have at least one thing written or pasted in. At the end of the month, writ a summary on how well you stuck to your budget. You can include anything you want. Did you go over budget? Stay within your budget? Have any unexpected expenses?

If this is popular, I'll host monthly. Feel free to host your own international versions.

Requirements to Join:

  • Females Only as we may be talking about things that women feel more comfortable with when discussing with other women.

  • USA Only for postage costs.

  • Rating of 4.9 and higher only please.

  • No recent ones or threes. No unexplained ones or threes.

  • A minimum of 25 completed swaps total, 5 of which must be Type 3.

Any questions, please contact me.

This is right up my ally, but I do not have the required number of Type 3. But I'd love to see this one again!

@chitownlady15 I may host a newbie version but do it for a shorter period. Keep watching for it.

AS chitownlady15 and I have the same problem. I really need a month long budget journal. I am suppose to be going on a retirement budget and this would be perfect - need accountability for sure and what a great way to do a budger journal.

Unfortunately, I have 20 Type 3 and 34 5's.

Hopefully you will host this again and I will try to seek 5 additional type 3 swaps.

@kmn0604 if you want to join the newbie version you will end up doing the entire month of January. I am doing them 2 weeks at a time but will cover the full month. I hope that makes sense. And that would give you 2 more Type 3 swaps at the end of January.

@MSturgill87 I think I might just do that and that might be not so overwhelming. Thank you for thinking of this awesome swap.
