Description:

The 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion will be the first in a series of Postal Heroes to be honored by ZMACS. Not familiar with this heroic group of postal workers? Check out this article and be amazed -- they cleared years and years of backlogged letters to and from the United States in the midst of the final months and days of World War II while facing a number of challenges both in the US and in Europe.. Since American service members are honored in November, the women of the 6888th seem like an appropriate inspiration for the Postal Heroes series.

Create one piece of easily mailable art of your choice (decorated envelope, postcard, ATC, zine, altered playing card, flat paper doll or diorama/ landscape, et cetera) honoring our Postal Heroes and send it to one partner. Celebrate the Post!

Open to all ZMACS members in good standing. I will compensate any unsent swaps, but expect that we will be Postal Heroes and not have any :)

Here is a very quiet video of the faces of the 6888th on parade -- wonder if that was the day that the general wondered where the rest of them were? They were at work, sorting the mail, of course!
