Description:

For this swap you will create one softie (plushie). This could be a teddy bear, sock monkey, doll, etc. Keep it small. It can be simple. It does not have to be perfect. Try your best to make something you would want as your holiday friend.

You will make up a name, personality, life story for your softie. You will take one photograph of your softie, preferably doing something fun.

Send the softie, profile and photo to your swap partner.

Everyone will get a new homemade friend for Christmas and the world will be a happier place.

This is an international swap but the package should be small and light-weight.

Newbies are free to join with a completed profile and no "no sends" in the past six months. Other swappers must have a 4.9 and no "no sends" in the past six months. Please contact me directly if you want to appeal your case. Snowflakes are nice; swap flakes are not. ;-)

I love the wording of that, and it is so true :)

what a cool swap, not sure yet what kind of softie I'm going to make yet. Thanks for having this swap.

How big or small should it be? I ask this because I make keychain plushies and I was wondering if that is too small? If so I can make something bigger. Personally I like the keychain size because I can take them with me anywhere. :D

I am going to drop from the swap for now. I have never made a softie and want to research a little more on how to make one and gather up matierials before I really commit. I want to make sure I can do this and make a nice softie for my partner if I sign back up. But I think this is a great swap for beginners and more than likely I will rejoin, I just want to think about it and make sure I am comfotable making a softie. I may try to make one for my son first and see how it turns out. Thanks! Naughty Elf

Key chain size is just fine! A lot of the fun will be making up a fun story for your softie and taking a picture.

NaughtyElf--We'll be happy to have you swap with us if you decide you want to join us. :-)

Hi everyone! Just wanted to say thank you for joining the swap. This is going to be a lot of fun!!!!

Okay--partners have been assigned so everyone can get crafting! My biggest hope is that everyone will have equal fun crafting their swap and receiving one too. I will angel although, with four young children--one of whom is about to have major surgery--I hope not to. In fact, with this great group, I'm sure I won't have to. Enjoy!!!!

I missed this one too. I hope to see some finished creations on your Flickr accounts! Happy Creating! ~A~

Just a heads up--hope everyone is doing great creating their friends. One of our participants seems to be in a bit of trouble and has been partially suspended. I'm going to go ahead and angel that swap. Please let me know if you are going to have trouble meeting your commitments or if you don't get your swap. I'm a really busy mum of four young children so the more time I have to get things sorted the better--'kay? I think everyone will have a great time getting their new friend just in time for the holidays. :-)
