Description:

This is the first in our 2020 year of altered tags. You may join all 12 or any one you wish - no need to be present for all! But the idea is that, at the end of the year, you should have a lovely collection of tags for 2020. :)

For this swap, you'll have 1 partner and create an altered manila tag for January, welcoming the new year - 2020.

And in case you want to plan ahead, I've planned out the remaining tags for the year. They are:

FEB – Winter Wonderland

MAR – Shamrock

APR – Cherry Blossoms

MAY – Spring Flowers

JUN – Poppies

JULY – The Beach

AUG – Sunflowers

SEP – Autumn Leaves and/or Apples

OCT – Pumpkins (may include Jack o' Lanterns)

NOV – The Harvest

DEC – Your Winter Holiday (or Un-Holiday) of Choice - Christmas, Yule, Jul, Honouring the Solstice only...whatever speaks to you!

In a Nutshell

  • Decorate a standard #5 shipping tag (4 3/4" x 2 3/8") or larger with a pre-punched hole so the tags can be held together with a ring. If you don't have that size tag, you can cut one from heavy cardstock or tag-board.

  • The front may be altered in any way you wish - collage, mixed media, stamped, hand-drawn or painted, etc. Please put your best effort forward! The back should be lightly altered as well, but does not have to be nearly as in depth or detailed as the front. Please sign the back too, with your name and the date.

  • The art is sender's choice, so you can start at any time - just remember the theme - 2020!

  • Tags are not profile based.

The Administrivia

  • Include a note with your name, username, and the swap name.

  • Send on time. Rate promptly upon receipt. Sending late without communication warrants a 3 rating and removal from the group. Not rating or having to be chased for a rating also warrants removal from the group. Communicate and rate.

  • Rate according to the Swap-Bot Rating Criteria. Failure to rate your partner or to rate correctly will result in your removal from this group.

  • If you are going to be late sending, make sure you let your partner and me know prior to the send-by date.

  • Hearts are purely at the discretion of the rater.

  • If you flake, you will be removed immediately from this group.

  • If you are flaked on, let me know. I will angel this swap after you rate a 1.

Discussion

Swan 12/11/2019 #

Is the color of the tag important (you mention a manila tag near the beginning of the description)?

renmagpie 12/12/2019 #

@Swan no the colour isn't important. Manila tags are the most commonly used for this type of swap.

user6937 12/17/2019 #

I love the size you mentioned (a #5) so that's what I'll be sending unless my partner requests a different size. Watching for now.

renmagpie 12/19/2019 #

@user6937 - the size is sender's choice so feel free to use what you're most comfortable with. The only requirement is that the tag be a minimum size of #5. Larger is acceptable too.

renmagpie 12/30/2019 #

Please note for future rounds, tag size will be set at #5, but it is too late to change this round.
