Description:

@glitterballz hosted a similar swap like this recently and has given me permission to try out my version of it, thank you for that @glitterballz !

I think this will be a lot of fun :D

The idea is pretty simple. Who do you wish was in your family? Make a family tree for yourself, but rather than using your real family pictures and information, replace them with anybody you chose!

REQUIREMENTS:

  • This swap is open to every member of One-on-One Traders that meets the rating requirements listed at the end!

  • You will have one partner to send your family tree to.

  • You should make your family tree on an 8.5"x11" sheet of paper, but if you wish you can make it on a bigger sheet, just not a smaller sheet.

  • You should have at least three consecutive generations in your family tree, but you can decide which generations those are.

  • Use the real birthdates/birthplaces of your "imaginary" family (so you might have to look them up).

  • There are many different ways to set up your family tree, and you are free to do it however you like with a few restrictions. It must be set up like a real family tree (google "family tree" images to get some ideas) so that each generation is represented on one line. Example, if you start with yourself at the bottom of the tree, all of your brothers and sisters will be on the same line as you. You'll draw a line connecting yourselves to your mother and father above you. On the same line as your mother and father will be their brothers and sisters (one side being maternal, the other paternal). Then above them you'll connect your maternal aunts & uncles to their parents, and your paternal aunts & uncles to their parents (your grandparents)...and so on. If you decide to work below your generation, follow the same guidelines keeping every generation on one line and connecting children to parents. Again you're free to design this however you like, but it should actually look like a family tree.

  • The background of your sheet must be a tree, and you are free to create this on a computer, draw it by hand, sew it, paint it, whatever.

  • Each member of the family tree should have a picture, their real name (including middle name and nicknames if they exist), real birthdate (including date of death if dead), and real birthplace. Please keep in mind that it would be rather awkward if your son was Albert Einstein, born forty years before you were ;) So try to choose each generation realistically in regards to a persons age.

  • Write a short note/letter explaining a bit about why you chose who you did.

Any questions please pm them to @choke I try to check the comments sections of my swaps regularly, but you'll get a quicker reponse from a quick pm!

Rating Requirements:

  • You must have a 4.9+++ rating and have absolutely NO recent no-sends. Any comments about unfair ratings you've received must be sent to me BEFORE signing up for the swap. Otherwise you will be banned from the swap. I will only be banning people the day I assign partners so please contact be BEFORE you sign up!

Here is an example of what one looks like:

If you do a google image search for family tree you'll find lots of different ones.
