Description:

Who has time to make an entire quilt these days? This swap is for quilters, sewers, and all crafters who want to be creative with fabric and quilting. You will make one small, quilted creation, sized between 5 and 10 inches square (or whatever is close in metric!)

Requirement: final creation is a "sandwich" (has a top, batting, and a backing) that is held together with some sort of quilting.

Options: solid or pieced top; hand or machine quilting; extras added--ribbon, buttons, charms, threads, paint.

Re-use is encouraged; experimentation is promoted; having fun is required!

Please be sure that you either sign or add a label on the back of your work.

Because this will not be the easiest of swaps (like, say, buying a pair of socks and sending them), all joiners must be rated and have no flakes/0s in the past 2 months. If you have special circumstances and want to join, contact me. I'll check all the profiles before assigning partners.

I've made this international because I think that is much more fun, and I don't think postage should be too much for the final creation. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Would love to do this if only Regional USA.

Postage shouldn't be very much on something this small. It sounds very interesting.

the problem I have with these kinds of swaps is that everyone uses different sizes of batting and different fabrics. If it was all 100% cotton and a consistent batting size/content was stated then I think the quilt sandwiches would be more usable and this is something that could be an ongoing project. Mary Just my thoughts.

WLW, I wanted to leave this open for experimentation this first time I host it. I imagine an individual work rather than a usable piece. I was inspired by the art pieces I have seen in the magazine Art Quilter. I hope you'll give it a try!

I'm assuming this should stand on its own, ie finished edges, rather than be part of a larger quilt to put together. So the difference in batting should not matter.

I would love to join and had this on my watchlist but I've just got too much on just now to commit. Can you let me know if you redo this swap please?
