For this swap, you will create and receive six charms, One (1) charm for six (6) different partners. 6 total charms.

They can be fabric, recycled items, felting, metal, clay or any material you choose to work with. Use stamping, embossing powders, beads, whatever moves you to create and embellish your charms.

Your charms can be any theme you want and you may wish to create charms based on your partner’s profile but it is completely up to you.

Some Things to Note:

  1. Keep in mind your size when creating charms, they will be part of jewelry or another crafty creation. Please limit size to no more than 2” in diameter.

  2. They must be ready to hang(i.e. include jump rings)

  3. Please make sure your charms are durable(coated if they contain paper, etc)

  4. If you use an adhesive, dimensional glaze or any other sticky and/or smelly product to construct your charms, make sure they air out a few days before sending them out.

  5. They do not all have to be the same, or different, but they do need to be well made. Don’t forget to make one for yourself!

In addition to the examples here, I’ve included a few more resources for ideas and inspiration.

  1. Valentine Charms

  2. Just Simply Charming

  3. pretty paper book

  4. Romancing the Charms

  6. Art Erratica Swap

  7. Oldtimer and Lily

It is not necessary but sometimes it is fun to make crafty envelopes or little bags to put your charms in with your name. You can even write about what inspired you to make it.

Newbies just need to make sure they have a nice profile for their partners to read if they are making their charms to suit profiles.

I'm so excited about this swap...I've read everyone's profiles now, and am off to make some charms and collect some surprises! It will be exciting to see so many people's styles.

My charms have been sent. Please contact me if you don't receive them in a timely manner - especially outside the US. I can resend them. Thanks, Maggie

I sent my charms out on the 29th, but so far have only received word from one person that they have arrived. Most were sent in the US, so I am starting to worry about them. Hopefully they were just delayed by the holiday season, but please let me know if they don't arrive within the next week or so!
