Cowls! Cowls! Cowls!

Do you love cowls? Or scarfs? Then this is the swap for you. =)

For this swap, you'll have 1 partner.

You'll have to HAND MAKE their cowl or scarf. The fiber used for this swap will be up to the sender (PLEASE make sure it's not itchy! And absolutely NOOOO fun fur/novelty yarns). You can knit, crochet, weave or sew. It doesn't matter. Do what you like to do. :)

Also, you'll take a look at your partner's profile so that you can send a profile surprise (you could send yarn, hooks, needles, candy, books, totes, etc). The surprise must be at least $5 USD before shipping.

Requirements:

  • Must have a rating of 5.0 with NO 1s. If you're rating is under 5 and have no no-sends, send me a message.

  • Please send your items. NO flaking. It's not nice. The evil owl will come after you if you don't send! EEEEEKKKKK! =D

Please state whether you have any allergies in the comments below.

Please leave a comment with THREE color choices. Your partner will use one of those colors. The rest is up to the sender.

Remember: NO fun fur/novelty yarns. Make something you'd want to wear yourself. AND NO FLAKING.

I can not angel. If you're willing, please let me know.

Hi! I have no allergies and deal well with wool. My color choices are, black, tan, gray, or plum. I guess I'm kind of a plain - not into wild colors or pastels.

IzLa 06/11/2009 #

I love all colors except for pastels. I usually wear neutral colored shirts so I can wear funky, bright accessories (like cowls)!

Favorites are: pea green, mustard yellow, teal

I suppose I should put my choices down. Haha.

  • Pinks (not pastel)

  • Greens (not light/pastel)

  • Heck - ANY bright colors! I LOVE them!

(No black or brown, please). =)

Sooty2Shoes 06/11/2009 #

I should also add that I have a large neck and broad shoulders. =)

piggybaby 06/11/2009 #

does anybody have a good sewing pattern for a cowl? :)

Sooty2Shoes 06/11/2009 #

piggybaby - I can probably find you one. :D

uknitty 07/ 1/2009 #

I have a few cowl patterns that I am itching to knit - but I have too many already for myself ! I'm in Europe so I would really like to join in when you open up an international swap :)

spitfiresnc 07/ 6/2009 #

Hi - my color choices are wide open, I don't like orange or red. But I also have no allergies.

Wierdlings 07/ 9/2009 #

Perhaps we need to leave a comfortable MINIMUN WIDTH size for the cowl too? I know as a plus size girl, that a cowl I would make for my SIL who is a size 4, is not going to fit me, a size 18.

I have no allergies and love just about any color but pastels.

KimberCow27 07/17/2009 #

Aaaaahhh! I'm so excited about this! I've been googling my hook off for patterns and I found a couple I'd love to make!

Anyway, my color choices are purple, gold, and black! When I say purple and gold, I mean LSU's purple and gold... =P

KimberCow27 07/18/2009 #

Could I also add I'd like a cowl? I already have a scarf, but since I ride a bike on campus, I would hate it if it flew off! A cowl would be a perfect solution, no?

Natters 07/21/2009 #

So exciting! I am thinking about teal-ish blue greens, oranges, and, luscious dark fruity wine inspired purples. Cowls are so pretty!

Hi! =) I am so excited for the swap to start. =)

(I am sorry about wonky spacing on this comment. I just moved and I have to use my phone for the internet until the 1st.)

I would love if you would ask your partner their size before you start their cowl (unless they already stated size in the comments or profile). I want every one to be able to wear their cowl. =)

@Wierdlings - Sizing is important. =)

@uknitty - As soon as I am actually unpacked and organized, I will open an international cowl swap. =)

And for my partner - I would love a big soft cowl in bright colors (no reds please). =)=) I would really prefer not getting a scarf. :)

Enjoy the swap everyone!!!! =)

SiZE! Well I'm a big girl sporting L in shirts, but I have big arms! And... I suppose this is more of an open question

I've seen a lot of cowl patterns, some were like the one in the picture, some were short. Is there a length requirement for this swap, or would you like it to be left up to our partners?

rancidgirl3875 07/24/2009 #

I'm a medium girl and I would love a nice soft cowl for the winter! I have a black overcoat so any color is good, but I would LOVE a nice blue one - royal blue, prussian blue, even teal! Thanks! I am extra excited for this swap as I <3 knitting!

Sooty2Shoes 07/24/2009 #

@Kimbercow27 - I am going to leave the length for the sender to decide. =)

The length of the cowl is senders choice. =)

luckyloungers 07/25/2009 #

I'm on the small side, so nothing to big. Colors... I like earth tones, nothing to bright.

spitfiresnc 07/26/2009 #

I'm a medium. A average size will do nicely.

mamoochmama 07/29/2009 #

I wear a size L to XL shirt. My color choice is open. I have no allergies. Happy knitting.
